Data Engineer, HeliosX

• Deep knowledge of data warehousing design principles
• Advanced SQL and data literacy skills; commercial experience with Python/R as well as Dbt or similar tools
• Proficiency using git for source control
• Familiarity with testing technologies and processes
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex subject matter effectively to technical and non-technical audiences
• Proven track record of taking ownership of data projects, establishing requirements, moving quickly to implementation, and delivering results in a fast-paced environment
• Bachelor’s degree in a related subject (willing to consider candidates without a degree but with equivalent experience/certifications
• Genuine passion for your craft; you're constantly exploring new technologies and thinking about the potential applications in business

Desirable

• This is the early days for data in the company so you will have an opportunity to build reliable data marts from the ground up, making new insights available across the business
• Design, implement, and test new data pipelines
• Create tests and automation for the data pipelines
• Maintain and improve the codebase; recognise duplication, apply SOLID principles, and ensure that we have a strong foundation for our continued growth
• Meet with users to collect requirements and demo reporting capabilities based on new data
• Work with the Engineering team to define or refine how data is collected in the systems we use
• Think about the most efficient ways to accomplish our business objectives, sometimes on incomplete information or in ambiguous situations
