Who you are
- You have significant, expert, professional experience in IAM/Information Security as an engineer and solution architect
- You have in-depth knowledge and understanding of identity technologies, strategy and operations (including SSO, MFA, SAML, OAuth, administration and access best-practice and management standards)
- You are a keen “horizon scanner”, maintaining industry knowledge, techniques, vulnerabilities and potential tooling to cement your position in the field
- You have end-to-end experience of delivering IAM programmes of work involving in-house and third-party teams
- You’re highly organised and have the ability to work on intricate details without losing the big picture
- You’ll be a strong communicator and comfortable communicating with people at all organisational levels and leading conversations around recommendations for improvements
- You have a collaborative approach to how you work and ensure all groups are communicated with and understand your process and approach
- You’re a self learner and have an inquisitive mind
- You’re resourceful and solutions focussed, making practical considerations for all groups involved
- You’re a natural problem solver and have strong analytical skills
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related field, and/or equivalent Information Security related certification
What the job involves
- As our IAM Technical Lead, you will be part of our Central IT team, working alongside our Group Information Security team and overseeing our Identity and Access Management platforms and roadmap
- This role partners the Product Development areas of Digital Science and adds value through delivering a centralised Identity and Access Management service for our customers
- Work with the stakeholders from across the group and third-party vendors/partners, to embed and enhance the Identity and Access Management platform(s) and roadmap
- Introduce and lead the IAM community of practice, promoting best-practice for implementation and operation of IAM services and platforms
- Champion solutions to IAM challenges and opportunities for Digital Science products
- Capture and produce technical requirements, technical designs and application integration designs
- Support vendors, partners and Product teams with the implementation and testing of solutions
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities to the IAM service(s)
- Collaborate with the wider organisation and the Group IT and Security teams to support business representatives in embedding and improving their compliance, auditability and operations
- Act as a strategic advisor to internal, Product CTO’s, the Group CISO and Group CTO
Our take
Dubbed the Google Docs for science, Overleaf enables modern collaborative authoring tools for academics. Its primary product is an online, real-time collaborative editor for papers, theses, technical reports, and so on, written in the LaTeX markup language.
Despite being founded in 2012, it has experienced its largest phase of growth only relatively recently. This is partially due to an increased need for collaborative tools among scientists who are working in globally distributed teams, but also because of Overleaf's growing reputation as a sophisticated platform for academics. It passed the 10 million user mark in 2021 and has continued to grow steadily in popularity.
The company, in its own words, has entered a new era, and describes its goal as becoming the first port of call for scientific writing for researchers, students and enterprises alike. With a product under constant development and a large and enthusiastic community of users, it is well poised to achieve its aim.
