Role
Who you are
- The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial analysis, strategic planning, and an understanding of SQL
- This candidate will have a strong foundation in corporate finance, analyzing business or investment performance, and collaborating cross-functionally in a high-growth environment
- Role requires 3 days per week in the Boston office
- 3-5 years of FP&A, Finance, Investment Banking, PE / VC or Equity Research experience, particularly in SaaS or high-growth companies
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Strong proficiency in building financial models with solid understanding of corporate financial principles
- Strong understanding of ARR metrics and understanding of usage and subscription-based business models
- Ability to derive insights from data to drive strategic business decisions
- Proficiency in SQL (Snowflake experience preferred)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a sharp attention to detail
- Effective communicator, able to present complex financial data clearly to executives
- Collaborative, adaptable, and thrives in fast-paced environments
- Experience with Snowflake, Thoughtspot, Tableau, and NetSuite preferred
What the job involves
- Klaviyo is seeking a highly motivated Sr. Strategic Finance Analyst (Boston Hub Based) to join the FP&A team. This person will play a critical role in helping guide investment and capital allocation decisions for the business
- The individual will partner cross-functionally across departments to analyze projects and provide a clear view on return on investment
- Example projects include: maintaining and updating our long range plan, analyzing potential product launches to determine ROI, and supporting corporate development initiatives
- This is a fantastic opportunity for a candidate that wants to be part of a dynamic finance organization that is helping Klaviyo continue to efficiently scale for the future
- Building and maintaining financial models to analyze investment decisions across product, engineering, and go-to-market
- Evaluating and setting hurdle rate targets for investments across the company
- Partnering with business stakeholders to model and analyze investment analyses
- Proactively identify risks and opportunities, leveraging data-driven analysis to provide a range of outcomes to influence business decisions

Klaviyo's CEO, Bialecki, believes that the main problem with e-mail marketing today is that there is a divide between two kinds of tools: analytics tools that help you understand what people are doing on a website, such as what products they are considering, and messaging tools that send them a marketing e-mail. Operating primarily within the retail and eCommerce industry, Klaviyo aims to solve this by offering a tool that brings together analytics and messaging. This allows companies to bring all of their first-party data into a single platform to get a deep understanding of their customers and then activate that data to deliver highly-targeted, personalised communications through email and SMS. In the process, Klaviyo's customers get a deep understanding of their consumers.
Klaviyo is a fast-growing company mainly due to its business model - the firm offers a concrete ROI for Klaviyo’s clients if the software persuades customers to make purchases by treating different types of customers differently. An IPO in 2023 has led to Klaviyo's release of Klaviyo AI, which empowers businesses to unlock revenue-driving opportunities and deliver exceptional customer experiences across channels. Still in its early days of public listing, it will be interesting to see how Klaviyo fares in the years to come.
