Who you are
- 🧑💻 3-5 years of experience in a People Operations or HR Administration role in fast-paced, high-growth tech companies
- 🇩🇪 knowledge of German labor laws: You are able to support the team with questions about visas, holiday, sick leave, benefits, payroll, social security, health insurance, etc., and keep n8n compliant
- 🧾 Attention to detail: You’re the kind of person who spots typos, double-checks the details, and makes sure nothing slips through the cracks
- 💡 Tech-savviness: You are proficient in using HR and operations software
- 📊 Process optimization: You excel at identifying and implementing efficient workflows, especially using automation
- 📈 Startup mindset: You thrive in dynamic environments and enjoy taking initiative in projects beyond your role’s direct scope.
- 🇩🇪🇬🇧 Bilingual: You are fluent in German and English, both written and spoken.
- 📍 Berlin-based: You are located in Berlin and willing to work from the office once a week
Desirable
- 🌍 Familiarity with international labor laws: You have some understanding of regulations in other European or U.S. jurisdictions.
- 🏠 Remote work experience: You are comfortable and experienced in remote-first environments.

What the job involves
- Your main goal will be to ensure seamless People Operations processes, enabling n8n to remain a compliant and high-functioning employer while enhancing employee experience
- Employee Lifecycle Management (50%)
- 📝 Ensure smooth onboarding and offboarding processes, including contracts, background checks, and equipment setup
- 🤝 Collaborate with managers and onboarding buddies to support new hire integration
- HR Operations and Support (20%)
- 📬 Handle HR queries, benefits, payroll coordination, and Germany-specific administrative tasks
- 🤝 Partner with Remote.com on employment matters and ensure compliance with local regulations
- Employee Experience and Engagement (15%)
- 🎉 Organize team-building events, milestone celebrations, and employee feedback initiatives
- ✈️ Plan and execute company off-sites, including logistics and travel arrangements
- Automation, Office Management, and Compliance (15%)
- 🏢 Manage Berlin office logistics, maintenance, and supplies
- 🤖 Streamline People processes with automation and support compliance efforts like SOC 2

A recent trend in IT has been an increased effort to streamline workflows by improving integration between the multiple apps which people use. n8n was founded so that users can find a balance between building systems and having autonomy in their work whilst saving time through the rapid development of complex workflows.
n8n is certainly not the first to pick up on this trend - competition includes startups like Zapier, RapidAPI, and Tray.io- but n8n believes that its product is a cut above the rest of the market, offering more flexibility and robustness at a reduced price. The company also has the leading low-code automation tool in this field.
n8n's long-term approach to the market is set to be based on two key strategies, focusing efforts on its flagship platform, ensuring that it stays ahead of the competition in meeting the demand for its integration services whilst also pushing towards diversification. It plans to launch a version of its platform under a SaaS subscription model. n8n also looks to introduce a network of consulting, support and integration services, and if the company can execute this joint approach well, it will be well-set to continue pushing ahead in the market.
