Role
Who you are
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Extensive experience in software quality assurance, with a focus on automated testing tools and methodologies
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with a wide range of automated testing tools, including WebDriver.io, Cypress, Selenium, Mocha, Jest, React Testing Framework, and Storybook
- Demonstrated experience leading and managing a team of global QA engineers, including performance management, mentorship, and career development
- Solid understanding of software development methodologies, agile practices, and CI/CD pipelines
- Proven ability to define and implement software quality strategies, processes, and best practices
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think strategically and drive continuous improvement
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Detail-oriented mindset with a passion for delivering high-quality software products
- Relevant certifications in software quality assurance and testing (e.g., ISTQB, CSTE) are a plus
What the job involves
- As the Software Quality Director, you will play a critical role in ensuring the high quality and reliability of our software products
- You will lead a team of talented QA engineers and work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, and customer operations, to drive quality initiatives and best practices across the organization
- Lead and manage a team of QA engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure their professional growth and success
- Research and select QA automation tooling infrastructure and processes all QA teams should follow, such as Cypress or Jest. Work with Infra/DevOps tea to have a common setup all teams can use to automate tests right away
- Define and implement the overall software quality strategy, processes, and best practices throughout the organization
- Collaborate with product management, engineering, and customer success teams to understand product requirements and develop comprehensive test plans and strategies
- Oversee the design, development, and execution of automated test suites using a wide range of testing tools, including WebDriver.io, Cypress, Selenium, Mocha, Jest, React Testing Framework, and Storybook
- Continuously improve and optimize the testing infrastructure, frameworks, and tools to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the testing process
- Monitor and analyze software defects, testing metrics, and quality indicators to identify areas for improvement and drive corrective actions
- Work closely with engineering teams to ensure that testability and quality considerations are incorporated into the software development lifecycle
- Stay updated on the latest trends, technologies, and industry best practices in software quality assurance and testing, and proactively introduce relevant improvements to the organization
- Collaborate with external partners and vendors, as necessary, to address specific testing requirements and ensure quality standards are met
