Who you are
- Candidates should have proven visual design and UX skills and enjoy a mix of hands-on research, product strategy, and team management
- We expect this leader to bring a strong, demonstrable track record of delivering successful and intuitive products, bringing consumer-grade experiences to solve enterprise-level problems
- 8 years of experience in designing and shipping user-centric digital products at scale, preferably in the ecommerce tech sector
- 3 years of leading product design teams and managing multiple direct reports that span experience levels
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance business objectives, user needs, and technical constraints
- A deep understanding of user research methodologies, information architecture, and interaction design
- Work in a highly collaborative environment across product management, data, engineering, and marketing
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate design concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- A passion for improving digital experiences
What the job involves
- Our Director, User Experience will be responsible for leading our UX team and product design across our product suite
- You will be joining a product team that is passionate about building innovative products for the next generation of composable commerce architectures
- In this role you will apply your passion to guide visual design, to mentor talented members of your team, and to collaborate with leaders across product management, product development, education, marketing, and more
- Within the product organization, the right candidate will be engaged in brand, usability, user interface, visual design, and product strategy
- The candidate will have demonstrated strength in delivering across all stages of product development from initial ideation through validation and development to iterative improvements over time to ensure success
- Develop and execute a design strategy that ensures a consistent and user-centric design approach for SaaS products built for technical and business users in the ecommerce sector
- Oversee all facets of product design and maintain a consistently high quality bar for work
- Collaborate with product management, engineering, and business stakeholders to contribute to the overall product vision, ensuring that design aligns with business objectives, market needs, and user expectations
- Build, coach, and grow a world-class product design team
- Be a voice for our users and empathize with their needs
- Establish a holistic product UX vision and lead a team of designers to deliver and meet experience, schedule, and product goals
- Ensure high-quality design deliverables, from wireframes and prototypes to user interfaces and interactive components, while adhering to industry best practices and design standards
- Understand and apply Elastic Path security policies, processes, and controls as required, in day-to-day tasks
