Role
Who you are
- At least 5 years of experience as a ML Engineer
- BS or higher degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- Strong experience in NLP, with a focus on document processing
- Familiarity with financial statements, particularly iXBRL is highly desirable
- Expertise in building and utilizing knowledge graphs, such as Neo4j or similar tools
- Demonstrated machine learning skills, including data analysis, model training and fine-tuning
- Solid engineering capabilities, including building data pipelines and writing clean, scalable backend code
- Experience with computer vision, particularly OCR
- Proven ability to build systems and processes from scratch
- Comfortable working independently and collaborating with ML engineers and cross-functional teams
- Strong ownership mindset with a willingness to explore new ideas
What the job involves
- We are looking for a skilled and passionate Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join our Financial Statement Suite team
- We are transforming the way financial statements are processed and analyzed
- Our mission is to automate document workflows and create intelligent systems that ensure consistency, accuracy, and efficiency in financial reporting
- Design and deploy machine learning solutions, with a focus on natural language processing (NLP) and document understanding
- Design and implement end-to-end production grade ML solutions: Take ownership of deploying ML models, pipelines, and infrastructure
- Harness AI and a comprehensive range of ML libraries and frameworks to automate, maintain and improve how we implement our AI solutions
- Collaborate effectively with stakeholders and various development teams to align our ML solutions with the business goals and user needs
- Contribute to the advancement of ML/AI knowledge: Engage in research and development activities to stay ahead of the latest ML/AI advancements and apply them to enhance our product offering
Our take
With data having become a commodity in and of itself, infrastructure must be enforced so as to validate and contextualize it. Datasnipper does just that with its automated data validation platform for auditors.
Repetitive manual work in auditing means decreased efficiency and slower results. Auditors must reconcile data by cross-referencing it with that of older systems, verifying this data with documentation such as invoices, bank statements and previous contracts. Datasnipper’s platform uses intelligent automation that translates these documents directly into Excel spreadsheets, helping auditors make informed decisions at a faster rate.
Initially launched from Bootstrap, Datasnipper has successfully raised to Series B and has had a strong 2024. It doubled its revenue and customer base and reached Unicorn Status, indicating the auditing industry’s embrace of AI as a tool.
