Role
Who you are
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, including agile testing and TDD
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g. Python, JavaScript)
- Experience in a fast-paced VC-backed tech startup or scale-up environment
- Experience designing and implementing automated testing frameworks and determining appropriate testing coverage and types for different system components
- Understanding of monitoring and observability principles and how they help track system performance and behaviour
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with developers and stakeholders
- Language requirements: English
- Location: London, Paris or Remote

What the job involves
- As our first Quality Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in establishing a culture of quality within our development process
- You'll be responsible for ensuring we ship high-quality software and monitoring deployed systems to ensure they continue performing as expected
- While we need to maintain rapid product velocity, you'll need to balance quality with speed
- Your approach should be pragmatic, finding solutions that strike the right balance between building robust software and meeting business priorities and risks, while building our best practices over time
- Design, implement, and maintain QA strategy, processes, workflows, and best practices
- Champion “shift-left” quality practices and work closely with product, engineering and design to ensure quality is integrated throughout the product development
- Develop automated testing frameworks to accelerate testing cycles and improve efficiency
- Conduct performance and security testing to ensure our systems are robust, scalable, and protect sensitive financial data
- Improve our monitoring and observability to gain insights into system health
- Utilise quantitative and qualitative data to identify areas to improve quality, performance bottlenecks, optimise system performance, and proactively address potential issues
- Lead manual testing of large product changes, defining test cases and plans covering functional, non-functional, performance, and security aspects

In emerging markets, goods importers pay as much as 10% to settle their invoices - and wait weeks for the payment to arrive. Capi is setting out to combat this, with its international payments platform built specifically for importers in countries with rapid market growth.
Through the platform, users can pay suppliers in EUR, UDS or GBP at competitive rates and with settlement in just 24 hours. This represents a significant improvement over the current situation, which makes Capi stand out almost by default.
With strong support from investors, with a 17.2 million euro Series A raise in 2025, Capi is well-positioned to continue broadening its impact. With 25,000 international payments and counting across 92 countries and its local presence in emerging markets on the rise, Capi strives towards a future where companies in the developing world have the same quality of payments as in the US and Europe.
