Role
Who you are
- 3-8 years of experience as a software engineer on Cloud/SaaS products – ideally including Analytics/Dashboarding/Data management
- Working knowledge of Python, SQL and AWS well as at least one modern frontend and backend framework
- Understanding of cloud infrastructure and cloud-based deployment workflows
- Bias for action, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and effectively with diverse fast-paced teams
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
- It's a plus if you have experience in Spark, Databricks, pytest, Angular/Typescript and Infrastructure as Code
What the job involves
- We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join one of our product teams that owns large parts of the cutting-edge battery analytics frontend, critical backend services and data pipelines that our users rely on every day
- You’ll work across the stack to bring new, innovative features to our product and ensure our customers get the right insights when they need them, in an understandable and delightful way
- As part of a team of software and battery experts, you’ll play a key role in shaping our product to meet the needs of an exponentially growing market for batteries and battery storage systems
- Design, develop, deliver and maintain our cloud-based BESS Analytics solutions across the stack
- Focusing on making it simple to collect, store, process and serve large amounts of battery data for our customers
- Collaborate with product and design teams throughout the development process
- Ship changes to production daily using CI/CD to maintain a tight feedback loop with customers
- Ensure and extend system reliability across new feature releases, data availability and individual customer issues
- Join cross-team knowledge-sharing sessions to learn and contribute ideas
Our take
The energy storage ecosystem has an important part to play in enabling renewably operated systems, and batteries play a key role in this ecosystem. However, many battery monitoring tools are not able to produce analysis quick enough, presenting issues for systems where the cost of failure is high.
Twaice provides predictive analytics software that optimises the operation of lithium-ion batteries, with applications for electric vehicles and green utilities. Its digital twin platform combines deep battery knowledge and AI to determine battery condition, and predict ageing and performance. This improves battery performance and supports the wider adoption of renewable energy sources and EVs.
Twaice has seen impressive investment which has helped it further optimise its cloud analytics platform, as well as expand operations in Europe and North America. The company has a strong client list, including more than five of the world’s leading OEMs, which is testament to the value of its offering.
