Who you are
- Have practical experience with a minimum of 5 to 7 years working in a PMO or engineering organization, ideally in project/program management delivery, support, or in an analytics role
- Super organized and comfortable in managing multiple aspects related to projects and task tracking as well as balancing long-term strategic goals and short-term priorities
- Strong experience managing complex cross-functional projects and programs end-to-end and leading technology delivery initiatives on Netsuite, Coupa, Concur, Avalara, or related software
- Empower resources, manage stakeholder expectations, and drive program deliverables through to completion with a high degree of quality
- Excellent at communicating with diverse audiences from technical teams and business teams up to, our executive leaders
- Driven by an attuned sense of priority and urgency
- Inspired to identify and innovate in areas where automation can replace manual work
- Advanced understanding of technical and engineering concepts, allowing them to drive discussions, and articulate requirements required to ensure successful delivery
- Experienced in gathering process pain points from team members and stakeholders and devising improvements to address them
- Experienced with successfully implementing agile/Scrum best practices as well as Project and program management best practices (e.g. PMBOK) at the department scale with positive outcomes
- Skilled in working with project and portfolio management tools (e.g. JIRA, Smartsheet, Asana, Monday.com, MS Project)
- Interested in learning everything about MongoDB
What the job involves
- As a Technical Program Manager 3, you will support the delivery of technology solutions in accordance with established standards and frameworks for your aligned TechOps functional areas (FinTech Pillar + Departments)
- Contribute to the yearly roadmap planning by gathering needs from business and technical stakeholders and prioritizing the requests with their help
- Design and improve the processes and tools that inform the daily life of engineers
- Help prioritize the team's backlog and plan its release roadmap
- Facilitate communication with other MongoDB engineering teams to ensure that all roadmaps are aligned
- Recognize patterns in a sea of information and take action accordingly
- Identify risks to the team’s releases, mitigating them where possible and communicating them where not possible
- Expand knowledge into new domains as called upon
- PMP certification strongly preferred
- Seasoned experience managing complex initiatives in accounting, finance, and procurement systems required as well as familiarity with ERP solutions
- In 3 months you’ll have fully ramped on TechOps PMO processes as well as all relevant FinTech and Finance Ops-supported initiatives
- In 6 months you’ll have taken complete ownership of executing, driving, and leading those processes and supporting your delivery teams and business stakeholders
- In 12 months you’ll have pioneered in recognizing areas for process improvement across multiple TechOps teams and the TechOps department as a whole
