What the job involves
- The Safety Client Engineering team builds features in the Snapchat iOS and Android mobile applications to help improve user safety, including protecting users from account takeovers, keeping bots and other bad actors off our platform, and enabling our content moderation and compliance tools
- We're looking for a hands-on engineering manager to lead and grow a team of exceptional mobile engineers
- Develop vision and execution plan for client features that support our Safety Engineering team
- Influence key decisions on product strategy, engineering architecture and scalable, reliable, cost-effective engineering implementation. Work with product and various partner engineering teams to drive end-to-end improvements
- Lead and grow a team of exceptional mobile engineers while maintaining our commitment to diversity and inclusion
- Set examples of well-conceived and well-executed long-term innovative bets to improve user safety. Drive significant impact through first-of-a-kind ideas
Our take
Snap Inc. is the social-media company behind Snapchat, a mobile app launched in 2011 that prioritises visual and emotive communication over traditional texting. In Q1 2025 the net loss was narrowed to roughly $140M, down from $305M the year before, and revenue rose 14% to $1.36B. Advertising revenue remains periodic and macro-factors still pose headwinds, yet Snaps enduring popularity and its expanding product mix suggest that further success appears likely.
