Who you are
- The ideal candidate will have a strong assessment of different types of risk, and bring creative and effective ideas and solutions to growing organizations. This is a full-time role located either in our London office or can be based remotely
- 6+ years experience in an Employee Relations, HR Business Partner or equivalent role
- Demonstrates solid judgment and experience assisting risk relative to the business
- Demonstrates project management, change management, and experience driving programs independently
- Effective communication and problem solving skills
- Demonstrates empathy and experience driving inclusion work
- Experience learning and thriving in a constantly changing environment and to cultivate relationships across teams
- Experience using data to identify insights that drive action
- Experience helping global and/or matrixed organizations scale
- BA/BS degree preferred
What the job involves
- Facebook is seeking an Employee Relations Business Partner to support our Technology and Software Engineering teams in EMEA
- The ideal candidate will contribute with both hands-on and strategic support of our people managers through performance management and workplace conflict issues to cultivate an innovative, high-performing, and inclusive culture
- Provide Employee Relations support, thought partnership, and coaching for all employees and levels of management in the organization
- Proactively assess team and manager development needs, make recommendations, and implement appropriate solutions
- Provide rigorous data analysis and reporting solutions based on business needs, highlighting key trends in employee relations to actively drive proactive solutions to minimize reactive work
- Independently design and facilitate Manager Training based on data analysis
- Integrate and partner with HR colleagues in the HR Business Partner, Legal, Investigations, Learning & Development, and HR Programs teams to implement solutions and help scale the business
- Partner closely with regional HR partners on global strategy and execution
- Participate as an integral member of the extended HR community

Our take
In 2021, Facebook announced its name change to Meta and that this holding company would also encompass its apps, including Instagram and Whatsapp. As part of the announcement, Zuckerberg outlined his virtual reality vision and his plans to build the “metaverse”.
Since then, the strategy around building the metaverse has remained relatively unclear. There are signs of early success, with the company’s consumer VR headset becoming the most popular in the market. However, long term growth will depend on Meta’s ability to bring VR and augmented reality tools to the mainstream.
Zuckerberg has confirmed that it will be Whatsapp’s business messaging services and messenger that will be driving Meta’s growth for the foreseeable future. The company is focused on monetising these products and improving their ease of use for enterprise customers.
Focusing on more immediate growth opportunities will be key for Meta as they have faced substantial challenges recently. TikTok continues to attract young users away from Facebook and Instagram (two key revenue streams for the business), and they had to make the first mass layoffs in Meta’s history.
