Role
Who you are
- Software Development Engineer:
- 3+ years of experience with Object-Oriented Design and Programming, data modeling, structures, and algorithms (Java preferred)
- 2+ years of experience building enterprise-level software with a focus on performance, scalability, and security
- 1+ years of experience of building and testing software using continuous integration and delivery infrastructure (Jenkins preferred)
- Associate Software Development Engineer:
- 1+ years of experience with Object-Oriented Design and Programming, data modeling, structures, and algorithms (Java preferred)
- 1+ years of experience building enterprise-level software with a focus on performance, scalability, and security
- Experienced in working and collaborating with diverse teams in a dynamic, rapid growth environment
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
Desirable
- Experience deploying applications to AWS or other public clouds (GCP, Azure)
- Experience with containerization of software services (Docker, Kubernetes)
- General DevOps experience and familiarity with Infrastructure as code (CDK, Terraform, Jenkins)
- Experience working with TypeScript or modern JavaScript (ES6)
What the job involves
- As a Software Development Engineer at Workday, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the Java server-side components of our cloud applications
- You will work closely with software engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver high-quality products that meet the needs of our customers
- Design, develop, and maintain microservices components using Java and related technologies
- Write well-written, reusable, testable and maintainable code of high-quality
- Collaborate with a team of engineers and product managers to deliver software that meets customer needs
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers
- Debug and tackle issues as they arise in production environments
- Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies in microservice development and apply them to improve our products
