Who you are
- KODIFY MEDIA GROUP is looking for a highly organized creative Social Media Manager who has experience working for highly visible brands, and has the ability to manage and execute marketing campaigns across a variety of social media channels (Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, YouTube, and Snap)
- You should have a creative eye and attention to detail for identifying and curating engaging social-first content programming
- The ideal candidate will have experience building an organic following on social media as well as organic engagement, community growth, and drive customer advocacy and awareness
- 5+ years' experience in managing and growing a social media following, as well as knowing which trends, brands and creators are producing the most innovative content
- Experience managing Social Media for highly visible brands in the fashion or entertainment industry preferred
- Must have strong proficiency and understanding of major social platforms, including but not limited to Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and Twitter
- Content creation experience with photography or video for the purpose of Social Media preferred but not required
- Be an excellent communicator. Craft a social media presence that's personable, professional and authentic. Adapt to the language and content to each social media platform
- Strong desire to build and foster an online community on social media

What the job involves
- You will identify new opportunities to engage audiences by leveraging new and existing social media channels
- At a strategic level, you will be responsible for the development of a strategy and social media plan to acquire new fans as well as discover new innovative ways to engage our current followers more effectively
- At a tactical level, you will work with the SOCIAL MEDIA & STRATEGY MANAGER on driving the social team’s campaign calendar, curating social-native content that will be distributed to millions across our bands handles, identify performance metrics to drive innovation across teams, develop new content ideation, as well as provide monthly and yearly performance reporting to all levels of business
- Oversee day-to-day channel management from ideation to execution; including mapping out content calendars, scheduling and maintaining an organized social calendar across X, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook
- Write copy for all social channels, ensuring a consistent brand voice & tone throughout
- Plan and schedule all social content for marketing campaigns including film releases, sales, product launches and merchandise to maintain social presence and foster community
- Use our insights and listening tools to identify great opportunities for engagement through replies, stories and reels. Understand the interests and behaviors of our community and how to best connect with them and keep them engaged
- Craft social micro content strategy for talent leveraging on set capture, marketing shoots, events, or creating a content day
- Consistently stay up to date on best practices, leveraging new and emerging platforms, tools, trends, influencers, and partnerships
- Participate in team creative brainstorms as it pertains to social first content across all channels
- Engage followers on all platforms, as well as celebrity talent, brands and incoming DM’s
- Share feedback and insights from our community that can inform our overall product, marketing and customer engagement strategies
- Produce, shoot, edit, and export short-form videos for Reels, YouTube Shorts and TikTok
- Maintain all Social Media related Google Sheets, Docs, etc
Our take
Kodify essentially operates two businesses under one umbrella – Video content production with the one hand, and web development with the other. However, it seems that the company doesn’t simply build sites for other clients, rather developing and running high traffic sites of its own.
Which exact sites these are isn't public knowledge, but Kodify does state that its sites receive over seven million visitors a day. That the company is able to specialise in two separate internet niches might owe partly to the fact that it's been around since 2002, when video streaming and internet entertainment as a whole wasn’t as competitive as it is today.
Kodify is quite a rare company in a way, creating the impression of being something of a throwback dot-com business. This is to its credit however, showing that the tech industry can still be kept relatively simple and effective. Indeed, the fact that the company has grown to operate out of Barcelona, Los Angeles, and Montreal, and has never had to seek VC investment, indicates that it’s doing plenty right.
