Education has seen a whirlwind of change, from remote classrooms to increased academic ambitions, and there is a big opportunity to transform how students learn by expanding access to quality education. GoStudent is a leading K12 online tutoring marketplace aiming to facilitate this transformation.
It focuses on one-to-one tutoring, letting students and their parents pick tutors for general support or exam preparation. Tutors are tested, vetted and interviewed before they can join the platform. The company has grown quickly, operates in numerous markets and earned Unicorn status in 2021.
This success was dampened by a report by lead investor Prosus in 2024 that the value of the company had decreased from €3 billion to about €970 million. This effectively stripped the company of Unicorn status, but it nonetheless continues to operate as a recognised force in the EdTech sector.
