Role
Who you are
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- CS Degree preferred
- 5+ years industry experience, 7+ preferred
- Experience designing and building high-impact, high-performance, secure, scalable, observable, supportable, and maintainable backend services and APIs
- Expert knowledge of at least one of: Golang or JavaScript/TypeScript (preferred), Node.js, Java, or Rust
- Experience with React or similar front-end technologies
- Experience with HTTP API design and development including REST and/or GraphQL
- Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms
- Experience with containers and microservices
- Experience with modern software engineering development and automation tools like git and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi)
- Experience with container orchestration solutions (Kubernetes, Nomad, Mesos)
- Demonstrates sound judgment for balancing between rapid development, and long-term code maintainability and supportability
- Believes in the power of and the need for writing automated tests as part of development
- Experienced debugger who can put out fires under pressure when things go wrong in production environments and address the root causes of those fires for the future
- Has knowledge of a variety of modern backend software frameworks and the versatility to learn new tools and languages
What the job involves
- As a Tanium Senior Software Engineer focused on Cloud technologies, you will build and maintain best-of-breed products and infrastructure as part of a nimble development team
- Tanium focuses on a customer engagement model and feedback process to ensure our products are designed the right way from the beginning
- When new product ideas are identified, our software engineers design, develop, test, and deploy the products and supporting services from the ground up, while iterating with product management and customers for feedback and input

In doing so, it allows security and IT teams access to accurate information on the state of endpoints, helping it to realise new levels of business resilience.
Tanium added a former US Defence Secretary to its Board in 2021. A collaboration with Salesforce provided a platform that supports IT service management, remote monitoring and management, and cybersecurity capabilities. In the same year, the appointment of CFO Mark Levine could signal an IPO in the near future.
