Who you are
- If you enjoy building and shaping, while having a focus on driving cosell execution with our partners, you may just have found your perfect next role. Having experience in the software development and security space would be a strong plus
- 3–5 years of experience in a sales, BDR/SDR, or sales support role, with interest in partner-facing work
- A strong grasp of sales pipeline fundamentals and experience working cross-functionally with sales teams
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and/or experience in high-growth infrastructure or cybersecurity companies
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with comfort presenting to both internal and external stakeholders
- Proficiency with Salesforce and experience managing pipeline or co-sell workflows
- Self-starter attitude. You're proactive, curious, and excited to help shape this role
Desirable
- Experience with CSP partner programs or co-sell platforms (e.g., AWS ACE)
- Exposure to DevSecOps, developer tooling, or supply chain security
- Experience working in a startup or flat team structure
What the job involves
- We are early on our partnership journey at Chainguard
- This is not the usual cookie cutter partner role
- You will be reporting directly to the VP of Partnerships and own the execution of our partner GTMs with our sales teams
- Chainguard is hiring a Partner Sales Specialist to help scale our co-sell motion with Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) and strategic partners
- This is a newly created role for someone who knows how to build field alignment, drive partner-sourced and influenced pipeline, and support joint go-to-market execution
- Whether you're coming from a cloud provider, a fast-moving startup, or a partner-facing sales or alliances role, you'll play a key part in shaping how Chainguard grows with and through our most important partners
- Build and manage relationships with partner field sellers and align on co-sell opportunities
- Drive partner-sourced and influenced pipeline by coordinating with Chainguard’s sales and partner teams
- Track and manage all partner activity in Salesforce and support deal progression
- Help develop co-sell enablement materials and ensure both internal and external teams are equipped to win
- Support joint campaigns, events, and field engagements with partners and field marketing
- Travel as needed for partner meetings, enablement sessions, and industry events
Our take
Developers rely on open source code and apps in their day to day work, but when the provenance of the code is unknown this creates potential weaknesses that cybercriminals can exploit. Chainguard exists to build security into the coding supply chain by making it possible for companies to enforce security policies based on auditable signatures baked into the code, and by providing a security-first set of container images with no known vulnerabilities for cloud app developers.
In the wake of huge cyber attacks like the Log4j vulnerability and Solarwinds breach, software supply chain security has been an area of major focus for startups hoping to solve problems in this sector. However, most of these focus on scanning and detection of threats. Chainguard's approach comes from the other end of the process, focusing on building security into the software itself. It was built by former Google engineers aware of software developers existing workloads, so is designed to be easily installed and integrated into existing automation systems like Terraform.
Chainguard completed a Series C funding round led by Lightspeed Ventures in 2024, minting it as a new Unicorn on the cybersecurity scene. It is using this funding to expand its go-to-market internationally and expand its Chainguard Images product.
