Role
Who you are
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated expertise in developing scalable, reusable cross-platform libraries with React Native and React. Experience with development for iOS and Android
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, and modern frontend & mobile technologies, with an expert-level understanding of mobile security
- Expertise in implementing secure coding practices, utilizing platform-specific security features (iOS Keychain, Android Keystore, TPMs), and managing secure authentication and authorization flows to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., OWASP Mobile Security Top 10)
- Passion for blockchain technology/web3 and eagerness to consume the latest news and developments
What the job involves
- The Core team is responsible for delivering a best-in-class wallet experience for the Avalanche Ecosystem and beyond
- We are seeking a Senior React Native Engineer to join our team in building the next-generation chain-agnostic wallet experience
- In this role, you will architect and develop a scalable, reusable UI library that ensures a seamless user experience across iOS and Android
- You will implement the overall layouts for our mobile applications, translating complex requirements into visually appealing, intuitive, and secure interfaces
- Craft Intuitive & Performant UIs
- Develop layouts and components that enhance the user experience, ensuring our custody solution is performant and user-friendly across all devices and platforms
- Develop Cutting-Edge UI Libraries
- Architect, develop, and maintain a reusable cross-platform library that powers both iOS and Android experiences using cutting-edge technologies for the Core wallet
- Create developer libraries and SDKs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including frontend engineers, designers, and product and security experts, to deliver end-to-end solutions

The highly secure and decentralized nature of blockchain technology makes it an attractive prospect for financial projects - but historically, this has come with a compromise on transaction speed and scalability, with Ethereum and Blockchain speeds barely breaking into double digits per second.
Ava Labs’ open-source platform Avalanche enables companies to launch decentralized applications with all the benefits of blockchain, whilst processing a record-smashing 4,500 transactions per second. The company's strategy has been to tailor its blockchain to specific applications, establishing a reputation in the sector through efficient hard-and-fast use cases with low fees. This has allowed it to operate alongside blockchain giants like Ethereum that hoard large amounts of the DeFi market.
In answering the strong appetite for a cheaper and more scalable blockchain consensus, Ava Labs has found a keen audience, and secured the ability to pursue its goal of opening the space up to more users. The Avalanche platform has become the first to partner with Amazon Web Services, becoming part of a project to bring blockchain technology to government and enterprises. The company also partnered with digital identity verification provider Blockpass, to collaborate towards furthering the safety, security and capabilities of the ecosystem.
