Role
Who you are
- 1-2 years of experience in HR, office management, employee experience, hospitality, or a similar people-facing role
- A natural people person – warm, approachable, and service-oriented, with strong communication skills
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, able to juggle multiple priorities and follow through on every task
- A proactive, hands-on attitude – you see what needs to be done and you do it; no task is too big or too small
- Experience planning events or managing budgets is an advantage
- Discretion and good judgment when handling sensitive employee information
- Familiarity with HR systems (e.g., HiBob) and Google Workspace is an advantage
- Based in Toronto and able to work from the office – this is an on-site role (4 days in)

What the job involves
- In this role, you’ll be at the heart of our Toronto office and a key member of our HR team, helping shape the day-to-day experience of employees across our two North American sites – Toronto and New York
- This is a hands-on, people-first role that combines office management, employee experience, and HR support. You’ll keep our office running smoothly, create meaningful moments that bring our teams together, and serve as the first point of contact for employees on all things HR.
- You’ll also own the employee experience budget for our North American sites, helping ensure every investment creates a workplace where people feel supported, connected, and excited to come to work

- Own the employee experience budget for our North American sites (Toronto and New York), managing it thoughtfully throughout the year
- Plan and execute events, happy hours, holiday parties, team offsites, and celebrations that build connection and culture
- Create memorable moments across the employee lifecycle – from welcoming new hires to celebrating milestones, birthdays, and work anniversaries
- Partner with the New York site to ensure a consistent, high-quality employee experience across both locations
- Manage the day-to-day operations of our Toronto office, including food and snack orders, office supplies, and equipment
- Own the relationship with building management and external vendors, handling maintenance requests, deliveries, and facilities issues
- Keep the office organized, welcoming, and well-stocked – a place people are excited to come to
- Support workplace logistics such as seating, meeting rooms, visitor experience, and office event setup
- Act as the first line of support for employee questions on HR policies – PTO, parental and maternity leave, health insurance, benefits, and more
- Assist the HR team with day-to-day operations, including onboarding and offboarding logistics, HRIS data upkeep, and documentation
- Help communicate HR policies and programs clearly to employees, escalating more complex cases to the right HR partner when needed
- Support HR projects and initiatives across the employee lifecycle as the team grows
Our take
The retail sector is continuing its decisive pivot towards eCommerce, creating a vast and growing market for innovative eCommerce tools and software. Yotpo is a SaaS-based eCommerce marketing startup offering integrated data-driven loyalty, SMS marketing, and review solutions, amongst others, on a single platform.
The company has already secured strategic partnerships with major eCommerce platforms including Shopify, Salesforce, and Adobe. In a sector where the breadth of reach is key, it is wise to deepen existing partnerships and continue with new acquisitions - both of which appear to have remained a priority for Yotpo alongside the launch of its eCommerce Retention Marketing Platform in 2023.
Its focus on a single platform and integrated experience is likely to be a success, as the spate of new eCommerce tools is creating a real need for streamlined and optimised management as the sector develops. If Yotpo can become the one-stop shop of choice for vendors of all sizes, it stands to capitalise well on the growing eCommerce sector.
