Role
Who you are
- Minimum of 8 years in HR, with at least 4 years in a managerial role; prior experience in the manufacturing industry is essential
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Proven ability to lead, influence, and develop teams, with strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across all organizational levels
- In-depth understanding of labor laws, health and safety regulations, and compliance requirements pertinent to the manufacturing sector
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and effective implementation
What the job involves
- We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of People & Culture to lead our human resources initiatives at our Brooklyn manufacturing facility in Industry City (otherwise known as our Liberty View location)
- This pivotal role involves shaping our organizational culture, driving talent management strategies, and ensuring compliance with labor laws and safety regulations
- The Director will collaborate closely with senior leadership to align HR practices with business objectives, fostering an inclusive and high-performing work environment
- Develop and implement People & Culture strategies that support business goals, enhance employee engagement, and promote a positive workplace culture
- Lead initiatives in organizational design, workforce optimization, and change management to drive efficiency and effectiveness
- Oversee performance management, succession planning, and career development programs to cultivate a pipeline of skilled talent
- Ensure a collaborative work environment by managing employee relations, addressing grievances, and implementing programs that boost morale and productivity
- Ensure adherence to labor laws, health and safety regulations, and company policies to mitigate legal risks and maintain a safe workplace
- Champion DEI initiatives to build an inclusive culture that values diverse perspectives and backgrounds
- Collaborate and promote workplace safety and ensure compliance with health and safety standards
- Develop and enforce HR policies and procedures that align with organizational values and legal requirements
- Light facilities management responsibilities
- Utilize HR Information Systems and data analytics tools to inform decision-making and optimize HR processes
