Who you are
- Current Enrollment: Must be currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
- Graduation Timeline: Must have a projected graduation date of either Fall 2026 or Spring 2027
- Programming Proficiency: Demonstrated ability to code in at least one major language, such as Python, Java, C++, JavaScript, Rust, or Go
- CS Fundamentals: Strong foundational knowledge of computer science, specifically in data structures and algorithm design
- Communication Skills: Proactive communication style with a proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
- Analytical Mindset: A talent for troubleshooting and a curiosity-driven approach to optimizing complex technical systems
Desirable
- Advanced Degree: Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Computer Science or a specialized Engineering field
- Previous Experience: Prior internship experience or personal projects involving distributed systems or cloud infrastructure
- Language Expertise: Deep familiarity with Rust or Go, specifically for system-level programming
- Niche Interests: Academic focus or interest in artificial intelligence, graphics rendering, or computational biology
- Dublin Local: Familiarity with or proximity to the Dublin tech ecosystem

- Throughout this 12-week, full-time in-person internship in our Dublin office, you will work on high-impact projects that go far beyond the classroom
- You will receive one-on-one mentorship from industry experts, collaborating with a diverse team of engineers to build fault-tolerant systems and tools used by customers worldwide

- System Development: Build and maintain scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant distributed systems at scale to support intensive computational workloads
- Product Creation: Develop innovative products and tools from the ground up that will be utilized by a global customer base
- Production Support: Triage bugs and resolve complex issues within production environments to ensure platform reliability
- Feature Iteration: Partner with product owners and stakeholders to design, test, and iterate on new features that drive platform growth
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with senior engineers and teammates to align technical tasks with broader company goals
- Mentorship Engagement: Participate in dedicated one-on-one mentorship sessions to accelerate your professional growth and technical mastery

Our take
Crusoe is tackling one of the biggest challenges facing the digital age: the enormous energy demand of data centres and AI infrastructure. As AI models grow more powerful, they require immense computing power (and therefor electricity) to train and operate. This surge in energy use has put some pressure on power grids, driven up costs, and raised environmental concerns. Crusoe is on a mission to make this process more sustainable by finding smarter, cleaner, and more efficient ways to power the data centres that drive modern computing.
The company started out by putting wasted energy to work. Originally known as Crusoe Energy, it captured natural gas that would otherwise be burned off ("flared") at remote oil sites and used it to power modular data centres. Today, Crusoe has evolved into a major player in AI infrastructure, designing and operating large-scale data centres near renewable or stranded energy sources. It's now one of a handful of "neocloud" companies (next-generation cloud providers focused on flexible, efficient computing for AI workloads). And its facilities are helping tech giants like OpenAI handle the massive computing requirements of training advanced AI models.
Recently, Crusoe has attracted some huge investor attention, tripling its valuation to over $10B and raising $1.4B in its latest funding round. It's building OpenAI's first major US data centre campus and even experimenting with bold new frontiers. In partnership with Starcloud, Crusoe plans to deploy the world's first space-based cloud computing infrastructure, powered by solar energy and orbiting the Earth by 2027. If successful, this could redefine how and where computing happens, opening up a cleaner, virtually limitless source of energy for AI's next generation.
