Who you are
- Strong experience writing backend systems
- Proven experience in primarily backend programming: Node.js, GraphQL, TypeScript, Express, GCP, and PostgreSQL
- Passion for building robust and scalable solutions
- 5+ years of professional experience as a software developer
- Exceptional problem-solving skills
- A proven passion for all things software
- Strong ability to work independently while still being collaborative and inclusive
- Proven ability in taking a feature, task, or product all the way from conception to completion and release
- Ability to build re-usable solutions
- BSc Computer Science or equivalent is preferred
What the job involves
- As a Backend Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in constructing and upholding the fundamental infrastructure that empowers our applications
- You'll be responsible for managing server-side logic, database systems, and API development, guaranteeing seamless data flow and optimal functionality
- Your dedication to security, performance, and scalability will be crucial in crafting sturdy and efficient systems
- Through collaborative efforts with diverse teams, your contributions will ensure exceptional user experiences and propel TROOP's technological advancement
- Develop and maintain the server-side logic of applications, handling data processing, authentication, and business logic
- Design, create, and manage databases, including schema design, data modeling, and optimization for efficient data storage and retrieval
- Build and maintain APIs for communication between the front-end and backend, ensuring data exchange and functionality
- Profile and optimize code and database queries to enhance application speed, scalability, and resource efficiency
- Implement security measures such as authentication, authorization, and data encryption to protect sensitive information and prevent unauthorized access
Our take
TROOP is a meetings management platform for hybrid and global teams, delivering data-based and complete meeting strategies that reduce costs, increase engagement, and reduce CO2 footprints.
TROOP's self-serve platform takes into account data such as travel time and transport method to provide optimised meeting locations and timings for distributed teams. Its results can be visualised and shared via the built-in dashboard, allowing organisers to collaborate with participants and make quick, effective choices.
Seeing a surge in use as remote working became more popular, TROOP captured interest which allowed it to build a portfolio of case studies. The platform's ability to take into account corporate CO2 goals is likely what will attract further users, and it will be interesting to see how the company operates in the future.
