Role

Who you are

  • BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent Expand your domain of expertise relevant work experience
  • Extensive experience in leading security initiatives and driving certification programs with focus on Federal programs
  • Experience with running multiple successful Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) /Common Criteria certification programs
  • Experience with FedRAMP certification/audits, running security scans and addressing audit findings into the product
  • Production experience building highly scalable and performing distributed systems for Security products
  • Self-driven, independent, product architect or principal engineer who want to be hands-on and own the architecture, design, and implementation of initiatives
  • Production experience building applications in high level languages such as Ruby, Python, or Java building large scale and highly performing distributed systems
  • Strong knowledge of security protocols such as Public key infrastructure (PKI), lead Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) response team
  • Broad system understanding and ability to architect new components from the ground-up
  • Experience Leading and driving initiatives that are technically challenging and executing towards a successful delivery
  • Successful track record of owning their design and implementation – unafraid to ask questions or articulate design trade-offs with proposed solutions
  • Focus on delighting customers and embody a ‘Customer First’ philosophy

  • When you join our team, you become part of the leader in Zero Trust Segmentation. You'll work with a cutting-edge technology stack that spans operating systems, distributed applications, and immersive UI/visualization tools
  • This is a unique role that requires different skills: Security, development, and knowledge of the end-to-end certification process. This role goes beyond DevOps role and includes the opportunity to contribute significantly to hands-on platform product development. To be successful in this role, you will:
  • Own the requirements for certifications and work with external agencies on requirement clarifications then translate it to Epics and stories that the team can execute on. Provide technical leadership and guidance to internal/external teams to support certifications
  • Lead certification programs and Interface to DevOps, Product Managers, Security team, certification agencies, and auditors
  • Document and introduce processes to drive the implementation of the controls needed to ga
  • Lead multiple initiatives, develop proofs of concept (PoCs) when needed, and build a Plan/Proposal considering all cross functional dependencies towards a successful execution plan
  • Participate in development tasks and have a hands-on role building features
  • Mentor engineers, collaborate with peers and leaders in our organization to drive programs
  • Provide guidance and mentor the team on technical challenges and help the team with roadblocks especially in PKI, Security, and certification process

Our take

Cybersecurity remains an ongoing battle, with evolving cyberthreats and ever-more determined cybercriminals, and major data breaches such as the SolarWinds hack have the potential to cause widespread disruption. Illumio is taking a different approach to most of the mainstream security companies, with a process called "microsegmentation". This makes it easier to guard companies from security breaches, and contain any breaches that occur.

Detection of viruses is no longer considered sufficient to keep companies and individuals safe. Illumio takes a “zero trust” approach, in which everything is viewed as suspicious, a similar approach to that which is used by the White House. The company operates at the cutting edge of microsegmentation, focusing on protecting cloud datacenters and workloads. With more and more companies moving to the cloud, this approach is crucial.

Illumio also protects endpoints, partnering with big players such as Citrix, Amazon Web Services, and Splunk. A collaboration with Appgate, a Zero Trust secure access company, delivers the industry's first integrated Zero Trust Network Access and Segmentation solution, which can reduce risk across hybrid infrastructure, and proves Illumio's dedication to innovating the space. Additionally, the company announced a Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP), that is tailored to assist federal agencies in reducing risk.
