Role
Who you are
- University (or higher) degree required
- 3 to 5 years of technical pre-sales consultative experience
- Strong technical knowledge in at least two of the following areas; virtualisation, storage, backups, networking and cloud (as a service) computing
- Proven track record of establishing and solidifying strategic relationships with key customers and partners, while representing suites of complex IT or IT services solutions
- Strategic solution selling experience
- Strong presentation skills, both in person and over the phone, to a large audience or in one-on-one meetings (planned and ad-hoc)
- Sound relationship skills in working with all business functions, such as product management, marketing, engineering or technical support
- Demonstrates passion and enthusiasm. Self-confidence that translates well to customers, partners, and colleagues with an investigative mind
- Communication skills, which facilitate both presentation and interaction with customers, and sharing knowledge with other team members
- A self-starter with the ability and motivation to learn quickly
- Excellent documentation skills with attention to detail
- Up to 50% travel possible
What the job involves
- The Solutions Architect is responsible for supporting iland’s Sales Team in acquiring new business and growing current customer accounts in an assigned region
- Support will include design of customer application solutions, assisting in customer presentations, discovery and definition of customer requirements, approving all contracted sales from an application and engineering standpoint, and interfacing with operations personnel to ensure a smooth hand-off of all sales orders
- Reporting to the Director of Solutions Architecture with in-region reporting to iland’s Senior Solutions Architect
- Using a consultative selling approach, identify client business issues, determining client desired outcomes, and architecting a technical solution that matches iland’s portfolio to the customer’s business issues
- Presenting value proposition, benefits, key features, and functions across all solution sets
- Presenting to, and enabling, partner technical teams (Solution Engineers, Pre-Sales, etc.) and working with partners to close deals
- In tandem with the sales process, drive the complete technical sales cycle from qualification to technical closure and executing on the related technical sales process
- Developing and maintaining a broad knowledge and understanding across all of 11:11 Systems Cloud Services and Replication Services product lines
- Presenting technical strategy coherently and consistently to a technical and business audience
- Recognizing new business opportunities in accounts and helping to build and qualify a pipeline of opportunities
- Actively participating in account planning, developing, and executing on strategies and plans
- Driving product demonstrations, RFP responses and proposals
- Contributing to iland’s blogging and social media outlets
- Assisting in providing ongoing training to 11:11 Systems sales organization
