Workplace stress and burnout are on the rise, with the pandemic exacerbating already alarmingly high rates among US employees. Now, with the pivot to remote and hybrid teams, it’s harder than ever to spot in advance. mello is a new YC-backed SaaS platform looking to change that.
The mello platform on restricted beta release to a handful of customers like Prodigal, Arist, and therify, so details about precisely how it works are thin on the ground. However, it promises to improve upon the more traditional methods of employee surveys and pulse checks by offering personalized guidance and resources based on an employee’s burnout score. Managers can also use the platform to offer more structured 1-on-1 sessions.
It will be interesting to see how it fares upon fuller launch. Certainly, it’s unique in its laser-tight focus on burnout monitoring; this, however, could also be to its detriment. Larger players like kazoo and friday offer similar capabilities as part of a broader employee management suite, so mello may need to expand its offering to draw more customers in.
