Role
Who you are
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- 5+ years of experience in software development (Preferably with Python, but any backend language will do)
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and other tooling would be a major asset, as well as experience working with a relational database
- Familiarity with high-scale, highly-distributed backend systems
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to translate complex technical language into non-technical terms
- Ability to act independently, proactively, and in ambiguity to anticipate & solve problems before they arise
- 2+ years of experience leading projects is preferred
What the job involves
- As a lead engineer, your role is to lead the development and solutioning of software projects
- This is a critical role to the success of TealBook and its software platform. By helping to develop solutions and offer mentorship and technical advice you will ensure that high-quality software products are delivered on time
- Lead technical discussions and mentorship for engineering projects within a team
- Assist in interviewing, resource allocation planning, and mentoring
- Identify, and suggestion solutions for, technical gaps in our solutions and teams
- Work with Product Managers to advise software development projects, including planning, executing, monitoring, and delivering projects on time
- Work with stakeholders, customers, and team members to establish project goals and timelines
- Design and implement software solutions in support of the TealBook platform
- Continuously evaluate and improve the software development process to increase efficiency and quality, may include implementing new tools, technologies, or methodologies, and measuring the effectiveness of existing processes
- Identify and mitigate risks that may impact the successful delivery of software projects
- You will have the opportunity to mentor and grow members of the team in their technical abilities

The data is often not expansive enough for truly beneficial insights and is not announced until it is too late to be used, showing a demand for predictive procurement data tools in the industry.
TealBook delivers a platform for procurement data that is driven by AI and ML, providing expansive supplier data to companies before it is self-reported based on analytics-driven predictions. This ultimately allows users to discover the right suppliers, optimize spending, and innovate upon performance with a large supplier data set, driving supply chain agility within both eCommerce and retail markets.
Whilst supply chains face innovations in logistics, inventory predictions, and other areas, procurement data still relies on antiquated systems. So TealBook has been smart to recognize this and augment it through AI. The company serves big names in the industry, such as LinkedIn and Nasdaq, highlighting its positive market position.
