Who you are

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred)
Prior industry experience in software engineering is a plus
Strong foundation in algorithms, data structures, object-oriented design, and complexity analysis
Proficiency in C/C++ programming
Solid understanding of computer networking (TCP/IP), operating systems, and algorithms
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
Good communication skills and ability to collaborate in a team setting
Additional Skills:
Cloud Architectures, Cross Domain Knowledge, Design Thinking, Development Fundamentals, DevOps, Distributed Computing, Microservices Fluency, Full Stack Development, Security-First Mindset, Solutions Design, Testing & Automation, User Experience (UX)

What the job involves

Location (HYBRID, 3 days a week): Sunnyvale, CA
Join the Packet Forwarding Software Team working on the QFX5K/EX product line, driving innovation in data center and cloud networking
This role offers the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge networking technologies and make a meaningful impact on the broader network industry
Design and develop packet forwarding features, including L2/L3, EVPN-VXLAN, routing, firewall, QoS, and related protocols
Build networking applications using object-oriented design and modern open-source tools
Support and enhance existing products and features
Troubleshoot and resolve complex internal testing issues and real-world customer networking problems
Develop software features using C and C++
Collaborate cross-functionally with Development, Product Management (PLM), System Test, and Documentation teams
