Who you are
- Currently enrolled as a student at a Canadian post-secondary institution or technical bootcamp
- New graduates - Within 6 months of your graduation date
- Available to work full-time hours
- Residing in Canada

What the job involves
- At Wealthsimple, we offer 4 to 8-month internships that are open to co-op and non-co-op students, and recent grads
- During your internship, you will have the opportunity to contribute to projects that are changing the landscape of financial services for Canadians
- You will be on a team that supports your growth, provides mentorship, and connects you to the broader Wealthsimple community!
- Our internship program follows a hybrid work model, where you’ll be working from our Toronto headquarters on Wednesdays and Thursdays
- This structure offers the flexibility of remote work, while also providing the collaboration, connection, and mentorship that come from being together in person
- Make a real impact by contributing to projects that are changing the financial landscape for over 3 million users across Canada
- Work with modern technologies in a complex microservice architecture, including Ruby on Rails, Java/Kotlin, React, and a wide range of AWS services like SQS, Kafka, and S3
- Take true ownership of your work, tackling complex challenges and driving projects to completion with a high degree of autonomy and trust from your team
- Collaborate with a diverse team of engineers, product managers, and designers to build and deliver features that provide maximum benefit to our clients
- Accelerate your growth through dedicated mentorship, hands-on learning, educational workshops, and company hackathons, all within a team that is invested in your success

- 2. Second Interview: 30 minute interview with a hiring manager where you will be walking through a project review

Our take
Wealthsimple is one of a crop of robo-advisors trying to democratize investment management. These companies are disrupting the industry by automating many of the processes involved in investment removing the need for human advisors.
But while other so-called robo-advisors are focused on courting the high end of the market, Wealthsimple is trying to provide the same types of tools and advice to all users, regardless of the amount they have to invest.
Wealthsimple does have higher fees than some other robo-advisors such as Betterment and Charles Schwab. However, the company believes that it provides a more user-friendly platform, tailored to millennials who will be attracted to Wealthsimple due to its ease of use and social impact offerings.
