Senior Front-end Engineer, Faire

• 4+ years of experience
• Proficient in HTML, CSS, Typescript, and frameworks/libraries like React
• Experience in building responsive and user-centric web applications
• Strong understanding of web performance optimization techniques
• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or equivalent industry experience
• A love for technology, and an insatiable curiosity for new tools to solve real problems

• As a Senior engineer on the Platform team you will help to evolve our Frontend platform by driving projects that improve the quality, resiliency, and scalability of our apps and increase the velocity of our Frontend engineering team
• Leverage Cutting-Edge Technologies: Work extensively with Next.js, React, and modern web development practices to create robust, scalable, and performant solutions
• Shape Framework Development: Build and enhance reusable front-end frameworks and tools to accelerate development and improve maintainability across teams
• Be a Technical Leader: Provide mentorship, set technical direction, and define best practices for front-end engineering at Faire
• Improve Engineering Velocity: Lead the next frontier on engineering productivity
• Develop strategies on what technologies we adopt and utilize to best serve the needs of the business with only high level directionCollaborate closely with engineers and engineering leaders to significantly to the success of the engineering platform
• Identify and capitalize on new opportunities, overseeing complex multi-phase projects across multiple teams and platforms from concept to implementation
• Optimize web applications for peak performance and scalability, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, fast, and scalable code
• Mentor fellow engineers, sharing industry best practices in front-end development
• Build and leverage relationships across the organization to identify and solve a wide breadth of technical and non-technical problems
• Help ensure a strong positive experience for frontend engineers in the Waterloo and/or Toronto offices
• Technologies we use and teach: Typescript, Javascript, Kotlin, React, Next.js, Jest, cypress.io
