Role
Who you are
- 5+ years of customer-facing experience in a similar capacity (Sales/Presales/Solutions Engineer, Solutions Architect, Technical Consultant, etc), ideally in a similar high-growth, scaling environment
- Experience working with different data technologies in either of the following areas: enterprise data architecture, data engineering, data science or cloud data architecture
- Successful track record in designing, developing, and implementing data solutions in the public cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP) or on-premise
- Hands-on experience and proficiency in SQL and at least one of the following languages: Python, Java, JavaScript, Go, C#
- Ability to engage and communicate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences at all levels through presentations, whiteboarding, and platform demonstrations
- Technical savviness and business acumen to translate technical concepts and patterns into valuable business outcomes
- Passion for learning new technologies (especially graphs!), developing new ways of data modeling, and spearheading change management
- An entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to prioritize, pivot, and problem-solve
- Knowledge of NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB, etc) and/or graph databases (Neo4j, TigerGraph, OrientDB, JanusGraph, etc) - a strong plus!

- At Neo4j, our Solution Engineers are pivotal to our company’s success
- As a critical member of our regional go-to-market team, you will partner with our sales executives to showcase the value of our graph data platform and manage the technical aspects of the sales cycle
- You will help organizations across industries including Financial Services, Telecommunications, Technology, Government and Life Sciences understand the business and technical value of representing data using Neo4j graphs—beyond rows and columns
- You will grow as a thought leader in graphs and solve our customers’ high-value problems beyond traditional data solutions
- Actively drive and run the technology evaluation stage of the sales process, working with Sales as the key technical advisor and advocate for our products and services
- Work across a number of opportunities in parallel and manage day-to-day activities such as opportunity qualification, technical discovery, presentations, platform and use case demonstrations, proof of value, sizing, and documentation of technical decision criteria
- Build and nurture rapport with customer stakeholders at all levels and be the trusted advisor to them to help them understand what they can achieve with Neo4j
- Co-create reference and solution architectures with our customers, including integrating Neo4j with their existing architecture and applications within a public cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP) or on-premise environment
- Continuously learn Neo4j capability, including but not limited to usage and integration with third-party tools and services, to confidently articulate the business and technical value of Neo4j, address competitive differentiation, and handle objections
- Distill and communicate customer needs and product feedback to Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, and Sales
- Help drive demand through the participation in account-based marketing events as well as industry-known conferences and trade shows
- Lead by example and actively foster an environment of teamwork, transparency, creativity, and continuous improvement
- Travel up to 50% to assist in deal creation and closure, and provide support to your team as required
- What Success Looks Like:
- Developing and honing subject matter expertise to effectively discern and understand the true needs of our customers, present technology solutions that target those needs, and all in all, demonstrate thought leadership and the value of Neo4j through platform and use case demonstrations, solution architecting, workshops, and conferences
- Meeting and exceeding regional revenue goals, as a result of helping Sales to qualify and validate opportunities from a technical perspective and accelerate the sales cycle and adoption of Neo4j
- Collaborating effectively with Sales, Customer Success, Professional Services, Product Management, etc to deliver continuous value to customers and ensure a seamless customer experience as they embark on the graph journey

Offered as either a self-hosted database or cloud service, Neo4j is a graph database development platform that focuses on the connections between individual data entities. This offers insights into how systems, people, locations, and seemingly unrelated data points are related so that users can address complex data questions, such as business recommendations, AI, fraud detection, and more. The company is seen as a leader in graph technology with unlimited scaling, which was demonstrated when, in 2021, it produced a record-breaking graph database with over a trillion relationships.
Graph-based data models are now crucial components for AI and machine learning applications, and Neo4j has achieved an impressive number of funding rounds and amassed hundreds of enterprise customers using its product. These include Airbnb, eBay, Lyft, and NASA, the latter of which used graph database technology from Neo4j during the development of the Orion spacecraft.
