Role
Who you are
- Technical Expertise: Extensive experience working with SQL and/or Python to write high-performance, optimized complex queries and manipulate data. Proficient in DBT for data modelling, with a deep understanding of the Kimball methodology
- BI Tools Mastery: Expertise in building dynamic Looker dashboards and explores. Familiarity with other BI platforms like Tableau, PowerBI, or similar tools is a plus
- Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to translate complex technical concepts into easily understandable insights for non-technical stakeholders. Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to gathering and understanding business requirements
- Self-Starter & Team Player: You take ownership of projects, thrive in fast-paced, agile environments, and effectively manage project planning and delivery. While working independently, you also value collaboration and communicate well with diverse teams to meet goals and adapt to evolving requirements
- Data-Driven Mindset: You are passionate about data and the impact it can have on business decisions. You are constantly looking for ways to improve the data platform, ensuring it scales efficiently while meeting the evolving needs of the business
What the job involves
- Mejuri is hiring a Senior Analytics Engineer to help us build and scale our data platform, enabling impactful, data-driven decisions across the organization
- As the ideal candidate, you will play a pivotal role in designing and developing robust data systems that empower teams and provide real-time insights, all while maintaining a focus on quality, performance, and governance
- This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex data models and high-impact analytics projects that directly contribute to business growth and margin optimization
- Architect & Optimize Data Models: Design, build, and optimize complex data models using the Kimball methodology. Leverage DBT to create reliable, scalable, and high-performing data pipelines that ensure data integrity and support business needs
- Build Self-Service Analytics Tools: Develop Looker dashboards and explores, empowering teams to access and leverage data for decision-making. Create intuitive, self-service tools that promote transparency and operational efficiency
- Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and deliver production-ready insights. You will turn stakeholder requests into actionable data models and dashboards, ensuring the right data is available for the right teams at the right time
- Quality & Governance: Implement and maintain data quality frameworks and governance policies to ensure the consistency, reliability, and accuracy of our data
- Platform Innovation & Best Practices: Drive platform enhancements and advocate for data best practices across the organization. Support and mentor other team members with code reviews, training, and knowledge sharing
- Continuous Improvement: Ensure high-quality work while continuously looking for ways to streamline processes, optimize queries, and improve the performance of our data systems

Our take
Traditional jewelry retailers often target men for gifting - in part to make higher mark-ups acceptable. Mejuri, however, is putting the purchasing decision back with women with its direct-to-customer strategy. Instead of releasing large batches of seasonal pieces, Mejuri introduces only a small quantity of products each week, which allows it to translate trends and consumer feedback sentiments into its designs in a timely manner.
Having accumulated millions of visitors to its website, it is clear that Mejuri has captured a lot of interest. It has released over 1,000 designs since its launch, has an impressively long waitlist, and boasts that a large portion of its monthly transactions come from returning customers.
Despite its online focus, Mejuri has opened a number of brick-and-mortar stores across the US, Canada, and the UK. The company's current focus appears to be on this offline expansion, as it tries to push beyond its biggest markets into the other countries it ships to, as well as investing in branding and the customer experience.
