Who you are
- Front-end - Strong experience with front-end development technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React
- Design - Experience with design systems, component-based design, and design tools such as Sketch or Figma
- Toolchain - Proven experience with a modern JS toolchain: e.g. Bun, Turborepo, Typescript, Biome,..
- Code - A passion to write well-structured, easily maintainable, well-documented code that balances beauty and pragmatism
- UX - Strong understanding of user experience principles, design thinking, and design methodologies
- Problem-solving - Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Communication - Strong communication skills, ability to self-organise and work well within teams
- Project-Management - Ability to plan and deliver engineering projects
- Creativity - Creative thinking and problem-solving mindset
- Relationships - Ability to interact with people from across the business and build strong relationships, including the ability to influence upwards effectively

What the job involves
- Given our exciting and progressive growth plans, we are looking for an exceptional Senior Front-End Engineer to come join our global business
- Reporting directly to the Team Lead, and working collaboratively in a cross-functional product team within a tribe, you will be accountable for designing and developing applications and coordinating with the rest of the team working on different layers of the infrastructure at Fresha

- Collaboration - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand user needs and design requirements for the design system
- Documentation - Develop and maintain documentation for the design system, including design principles, guidelines, and component libraries
- Accessibility - Ensure that the design system is accessible, responsive, and optimized for performance across multiple platforms and devices
- Alignment - Work closely with the UX team to ensure that the design system aligns with the organization's design language and branding
- Improvement - Continuously evaluate and improve the design system based on user feedback, industry best practices, and emerging technologies
- Scalability - Implement and maintain a consistent and scalable development process for the design system
- Mentorship - Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development
- Integration - Collaborate with other engineering teams to integrate the design system into our products and platforms
- Culture - Contribute to a healthy engineering culture of feedback and growth

- Integration - Familiarity with continuous integration
- Tools - Familiarity with development-aiding tools

Fresha allows consumers to discover, book and pay for beauty and wellness appointments with local businesses via its centralised marketplace, while beauty and wellness businesses and professionals use its all-in-one platform to manage their entire operations through a range of intuitive software and fintech solutions.
The company has taken a different approach compared to rivals in the salon management space. Rather than charging monthly, its software is free to use, and charges only when a booking is made through the system. Fresha's platform also offers a range of financial products such as point-of-sale, customer records management and marketing automation, making it an appealing option for salon operators. This has allowed the company to swiftly build a network of merchants for its marketplace and collate over 110,000 partner businesses processing over 1 billion appointments booked to date. The marketplace also creates revenue potential for partner companies through its online bookings, building integrations with social media brands like Instagram and Facebook.
Now that Fresha has solved the chicken-and-egg problem of starting a marketplace, it is using its market position to scale quickly. It now has 130,000 partner venues and is working in 120 countries. Between 2021 and 2023, it enjoyed 190% growth in its global bookings.
