Role
Who you are
- The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of relevant work experience
- Bachelor/Master Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Experience building production level applications with TypeScript, React, and Python
- Experience with AWS (Amazon Web Services)
- Experience working with multiple types of databases like PostgresSQL or DynamoDB
- Proficiency with Git or comparable distributed version control tool
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey trade-offs and choices made
- Ability to write robust and easily-maintainable code
- Ability to troubleshoot issues that arise and bring them to quick resolution
- Passionate about self-driving vehicles, robotics, and web development
Desirable
- Experience with mapping/3d rendering work with web technology like ThreeJS or WebGL
- Experience designing user interfaces with tools like Figma
- Experience with designing and implementing event-based architectures
- Experience with Kubernetes or modern cloud infrastructure practices
- Experience building systems that interact with connected devices (like autonomous vehicles)
- Experience with handling a very high throughput of data
What the job involves
- Designing and implementing both customer-facing and internal web applications used by the entire company to produce key components of autonomous vehicle solutions and to streamline end-to-end development workflows
- Coordinating among multiple stakeholder teams to identify needs and collect requirements for design
- Rapidly prototyping and iterating upon designs to release widely-adopted tools that automate manual processes
- Serving as the central point of contact and primary owner of one or more platforms
- Forecasting development timelines and communicating status to leadership and stakeholders
- Leading prioritization efforts for feature requests, platform improvements, and bug fixes
- Thoroughly testing code before deployment and applying development best practices
- Ensuring applications offer maximum uptime and availability
Our take
Autonomous vehicles are big business at the moment, with companies such as Tesla, Google owned Waymo and Argo all vying to create the technologies that will transform the way we travel. ISEE finds its place in this thriving sector by specialising in autonomous trucks and using AI and deep learning technologies to create self-driving trucks that can learn and use the machine equivalent of common sense.
Speed, efficiency and safety are essential within the logistics and shipping industry. Rather than trying to program a reaction to an infinite number of possible events, Isee is creating trucks that will learn and react autonomously, designing a computer system that drives like a human.
Following very strong revenue growth in 2022, ISEE has closed a Series B funding round which is being used to hire additional talent and further the development of its self-driving yard trucks. As the first, and only, company to achieve fully-autonomous operations there's certainly an exciting future ahead for ISEE.
