Role
Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
- 7+ years of finance experience, including experience in Finance Planning & Analysis
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree preferred but not required
- Experience leading financial planning, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Strong business acumen and understanding of P&L management
- Proficiency in financial systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Hyperion and advanced Excel/financial modeling skills
- Excellent leadership communication and cross-functional partnership
- Ability to navigate change and adapt in a dynamic operating environment
- Strong time management and prioritization skills
What the job involves
- The Honest Company is seeking a Finance Manager, Corporate Planning & Analysis to lead enterprise planning and serve as a strategic partner for finance and executive leadership. The role is responsible for building out the forecasting processes and insightful analysis that support enterprise and cross-functional decision making
- You’ll partner closely with Finance, Accounting, and Strategy teams. The ideal candidate provides financial and commercial acumen and process improvement skills to guide The Honest Company toward sustainable profitability and growth
- Consolidate the annual operating plan and periodic forecasts with a focus on profitability and cash flow
- Provide in-depth analysis of financial results, including variance analysis, key driver commentary, and risks & opportunities
- Produce financial reporting packages for finance and executive leadership
- Partner with Investor Relations and Financial Reporting team on external financial communications
- Support development of materials to enterprise Board of Directors
- Collaborate with leadership team members on managing administrative expenses. Assess the return on technology, capability, and other SG&A investments
- Support long-range planning, capital allocation decisions, and setting targets for the Operating Units
- Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting. Maintain compliance with corporate policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements
- Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and data quality. Partner with Technology leaders to advance the financial system and capabilities roadmap
- Encourage innovation and best practices within the finance organization. Promote financial literacy among the non-finance VP & Director community
Our take
The Honest Company was founded in 2012 by Jessica Alba with the simple idea to create everyday products that are safer, gentler, and more transparent about what goes into them. The brand built its reputation on "clean" personal care - things like baby products, skincare, and household items made without any of the harsh chemicals. Because of this approach, it quickly gained popularity with families looking for a trusted, easy-to-understand product.
Over time, Honest has grown into a well-known name in baby and personal care, with products designed for both kids and adults. Its lotions, shampoos and wipes are especially popular for being mild and easy on sensitive skin. In a fun and unexpected moment, even astronauts have taken notice, during the Artemis II mission, astronaut Christina Koch mentioned missing Honest's lotion while in space, showing just how widely love the brand has become.
The company has been going through a bit of a reset though, deciding to step back from selling directly to customers online, choosing instead to focus on retail partnerships and wholesale. This shift is part of a larger plan to cut costs and simplify the business after slower growth. While it means less direct control over how customer shop the brand, it should help Honest become more profitable and focused, leaning into what it does best while relying on big retail partners to drive scale in the future.
