- Vanta’s team and technology surface are growing quickly, and it’s essential that we invest in the right abstractions and systems to enable us to scale with our business
- As a Software Engineer, you’ll be responsible for setting technical direction to enable our product and infrastructure to scale with our business, and driving complex projects across our technical stack
- Your past experience will be leveraged to enable and accelerate Vanta’s growth
- Our Senior Software Engineers lead and mentor engineers, delivering high-value products for our customers and infrastructure that enables our business to scale
- Our product integrates deeply with the services that present security risk to a company, pulls and analyzes data from those sources, and surfaces potential security threats to our customers in real time with guidance to remediate them

- As a Software Engineer on the Self-Serve Team, you'll be part of the Platform organization at Vanta, working horizontally across many areas of the product
- You'll help drive customer activation, engagement, and retention by building features and tools that make it easy for users to adopt the product, realize value quickly, and develop habits that support their compliance and security goals
- Your work will deliver direct customer value while also contributing to the platform by building reusable patterns and primitives that other teams at Vanta can adopt to drive activation in their respective areas
- Additionally, you'll play a key role in unlocking new business opportunities for Vanta
- You’ll help build out patterns that support product trials, enabling customers to try before they buy and empowering partner teams to create effective trial experiences
- Finally, you'll contribute to in-app purchasing and integration efforts—both for Vanta’s own products and for third-party offerings—so customers can manage all their compliance needs in one place
- Lead complex projects with multiple stakeholders and engineers to deliver significant impact to our business
- Set direction for critical technical surface areas, enabling us to stay ahead of continued rapid growth
- Design, develop, and own new product functionality and/or infrastructure leveraging modern frameworks and tooling (TypeScript, React, Node.js)
- Work with talented and kind engineers to make a significant impact on our customer base, enabling them to improve their security and prove it
- Contribute to building Vanta’s engineering culture as we grow

The security auditing process is usually very time-consuming, taking hours to complete, and it is often difficult for startups to invest time into such a process. Yet, the benefits of security accreditation are enormous, mainly as many such businesses are working globally and need ways to demonstrate security compliance to one another. Vanta works specifically with startups to help them complete and pass security audits such as SOC 2 and ISO 27001.
The company is a compliance portal and security monitoring platform that businesses use to assess their risk levels. Vanta carries out a pre-audit of a company's digital security and highlights areas that need to be worked on before a full analysis of all threats is carried out. Other businesses such as Datadog or PagerDuty offer similar security monitoring services, but Vanta monitors its customers throughout the year, allowing any issues to be identified and addressed early on.
