What the job involves
- We’re currently looking for an in-office Interim IT Support Specialist to join us for 2 - 3 months starting asap (1st July - end August/September), to help us with our imminent office move
- You'll be our go-to person for day-to-day IT support during the office move; helping colleagues with hardware and software issues, set up devices, troubleshoot technical problems, and contribute to making technology work smoothly across the company from Day 1 of being in the new office
- Audit, label and track all IT equipment before the move
- Coordinate internet installation, networking, WiFi and cabling at the new office
- Work with vendors, contractors and building management on all IT-related requirements
- Plan and set up desks, monitors, docking stations and shared equipment
- Configure and test meeting room technology, displays and video conferencing systems
- Manage the safe disconnection, transportation and reconnection of IT equipment
- Provide hands-on support to employees during and immediately after the move
- Verify that internet, WiFi, printers, meeting rooms and access systems are fully operational on Day 1
- Troubleshoot technical issues and optimise network coverage and office technology after the move
- Update asset inventories, documentation and security controls for the new office environment
Our take
High quality notes and resources are necessary at every level of education, but at times personal notes can be incomplete or missing details. The founders of Studocu have created a platform that allows students to share notes, resources and study materials, that now holds materials from universities across the world.
With millions of users every month accessing the platform, there is undeniable demand for Studocu's services. Much of the company's popularity may be ascribed to its freemium model, which keeps 85% of its content free to access. The other 15% can be accessed by students who either upload their own study materials or pay a fee.
Studocu has seen impressive investment which has enabled it to expand substantially. It also acquired Studybees, its German counterpart, to support this expansion. Notably in 2024, Erasmus University Rotterdam filed a lawsuit against the company surrounding whether Studocu should have to proactively screen materials for copyright breaches, rather than its report/takedown approach. There do not appear to be any recent developments to this case.
