Who you are
- We are looking for a motivated and curious intern who is eager to apply their data skills to real-world sustainability challenges
- The ideal candidate will bring a mix of analytical ability, attention to detail, and a genuine interest in climate action
- Strong Excel skills, including data manipulation and analysis
- Experience with desktop research, ideally drawing on diverse sources
- Willingness to communicate clearly: eager to learn how to distil complex ideas into simple, engaging messages
- Team player: open to collaboration and keen to build strong working relationships with colleagues across teams
- Curious and adaptable mindset: ready to practice critical thinking, exercise good judgment, and learn to navigate ambiguity

What the job involves
- As a Data Analysis Intern, you will play a key role in shaping this year’s study
- Build familiarity with net zero, carbon neutral, and science-based targets, as well as renewable energy commitments
- Lead data collection from company sustainability reports and press releases, with opportunities to use web scraping tools where applicable
- Clean and analyse data to identify trends across sectors, profitability, and emissions profiles
- Support insight generation and storytelling, working closely with our Marketing Team to produce a compelling research publication
- Help track and interpret how the world’s largest companies are engaging with climate action
- Support the development of a new, broader analysis of climate trends, with the FG500 as a key input
- Gain practical experience in data analysis, insight generation, and cross-team collaboration
- Contribute to one of Climate Impact Partners’ most visible and respected publications, used by clients and stakeholders to inform their climate strategies
- This internship offers hands-on experience at the intersection of data analysis, sustainability, and communications – helping to shape insights that reveal how leading companies are responding to climate challenges
- This role is a 2 month full-time or part-time position with a minimum of 15-20 hours per week

Climate change is fast heading for a point of no return, and it is increasingly important for businesses to trend towards net zero. However, achieving zero emissions by changing business habits and operations is a daunting task. Climate Impact Partners offers companies the chance to purchase carbon offsets, fund climate projects, and move towards their net zero goals, in a managed and simple manner.
Carbon offsetting is a tool for businesses to achieve net zero by purchasing parts in projects that have net negative carbon impact, in a similar way to purchasing stock. Climate Impact Partners sources and certifies the projects, so that clients merely have to choose where they would like to invest. Additionally, the company provides certification for businesses to showcase carbon neutrality, and a calculator for small businesses to assess their carbon impact.
Recently, the trade of carbon offsets has come under scrutiny, as opacity makes it difficult to ensure that purchasing them directly funds action on the ground. However, Climate Impact Partners, which is a leader in the space, demonstrates a commitment to carbon reduction by actioning the largest companies in the world to commit to reducing emissions. The interest in carbon markets is projected to increase alongside emissions regulations, presenting an excellent opportunity for Climate Impact Partners to see continued growth.
