Role
Who you are
- This is a unique role that requires an organized, impact-oriented, and customer- and product-focused individual who is comfortable with ambiguity, takes initiative, and builds strong, collaborative relationships across teams and with customers
- 6+ years of successful product management experience leading complex software products with cross-functional teams
- Proven track record of shipping SaaS products from concept to launch in a fast-paced, startup setting
- Excellent leadership and collaboration skills to build trust, bridge gaps between teams, and influence without authority
- Tenacity and ample leadership experience enabling you to lead, influence and organize complex, core feature projects
- Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation communication skills with experience engaging senior leadership and customers
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to balance qualitative insights and quantitative metrics
- Familiarity with modern product and project management tools (e.g., Linear, Productboard, Wrike)
- Hungry, fast-learner mindset with a bias towards action
- Ability to travel periodically for customer visits, events, and workshops
- Bonus: Experience in the automotive space or in mobile app development
What the job involves
- You’ll define and evangelize product needs for our core customers, representing Product in customer engagements and partnering closely with customer-facing teams to deliver maximum value
- Your ability to communicate prioritization decisions, technical nuances, and the voice of the customer will impact thousands of auto shops across North America
- Define Product Strategy: Define and champion the strategic direction, product vision, and roadmap for your squad, aligning with overall company goals and objectives. Stay attuned to industry trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging technologies that influence our space
- Drive Execution: Lead feature scoping, prioritization, and trade-off discussions — knowing when to say no to achieve the best outcomes. Translate vision into clear product requirements and user stories, managing the backlog to ensure maximum impact and alignment with company goals
- Lead Cross-Functional Teams: lead, inspire, and collaborate with engineering, design, marketing, and customer-facing teams to ensure successful launches, adoption, and measurable outcomes. Work with leadership to connect strategic plans to actionable, prioritized initiatives with clear metrics and timelines
- Collaborate Across Squads: Collaborate closely with other squad leads and stakeholders to coordinate efforts, resolve dependencies, and optimize resource allocation
- Champion the Customer: Conduct research, analyze data, and synthesize insights to deeply understand the needs of our diverse customers — from small independent shops to multi-location enterprises. Use these customer insights and data analytics to guide decisions
- Own the Full Lifecycle: Oversee the end-to-end product lifecycle — from ideation and validation through launch, iteration, and optimization. Measure success using product metrics such as adoption, engagement, and customer satisfaction, and use these to guide continuous improvement

The automotive repair industry traditionally requires a lot of paperwork associated with business management, vehicle certificates and other services. These elements are generally managed independently, and the mass of paperwork can become chaotic and difficult to manage.
Shopmonkey provides cloud-based management software specifically designed for auto repair shops. The software consolidates appointment scheduling, inventory and finances into a single digital platform. The aim of this service is to help streamline auto repair workflows and help speed up business growth.
Shopmonkey is trusted by over 3,500 shops, and is beginning to scale to personalize its services for bicycle, motorcycle and marine shops. The startup has recently formed a partnership with Affirm, allowing repair shops to offer flexible pay-over-time options and making it easier for customers to manage the cost of maintenance and repairs.
