Software Engineer, Athelas

• 3+ years of professional software development experience, with a focus on building scalable full-stack applications
• Proficiency in full-stack development with expertise in JavaScript (React/Vue), Python, and PostgreSQL
• Experience owning multi-month, high-impact projects, balancing trade-offs, and delivering results in a fast-paced environment
• Good understanding of modern front-end engineering, React fundamentals, performance optimization, state management, and component-driven design
• Experience working with complex backend systems, including designing APIs and optimizing database performance
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, with a focus on observability (monitoring, logging, and alerting best practices)
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively present technical concepts to leadership and cross-functional teams

• As a Software Engineer, you will play a key role in scaling and maintaining our website’s infrastructure, ensuring a seamless user experience as we grow to support thousands of practices nationwide. You’ll help foster a culture of continuous improvement, enhancing the reliability, scalability, and performance of our web applications while elevating the technical skills of the entire engineering organization
• Build features for the practice management platform, Insights, ensuring it scales to support thousands of practices and millions of users
• Design, build, and maintain scalable full-stack solutions using ReactJS, Python, and PostgreSQL
• Improve system reliability and observability by implementing best practices in monitoring, logging, and alerting
• Optimize performance and scalability of our web applications, ensuring seamless user experiences as we rapidly expand
• Collaborate with infrastructure and backend teams to ensure high availability and resilience of core functions
• Own high-impact projects, balancing speed and quality in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment
• Conduct in-depth code reviews, uphold best practices, and drive architectural improvements across the stack
