- Contract Management Expertise: Demonstrable post-deal contract management experience, including drafting terms, negotiating, and ensuring adherence to contract terms. A focus on maximising value while maintaining compliance is essential
- Commercial Acumen: Proven ability to deliver cost efficiency and added value from contracts, with a sound understanding of financial and business principles
- Relevant Industry Experience: A background in Insurance or Financial Services is highly desirable. Professional qualifications such as CIPS, IACCM, or equivalent are preferred
- Supplier & Stakeholder Relationship Management: Exceptional interpersonal skills to build and maintain trust-based relationships with both our Partner and internal stakeholders, fostering collaboration, alignment, and continuous improvement - A proven ability to interpret data, identify trends, and resolve issues to improve performance and enhance supplier efficiency
- Risk & Compliance Management: Experience identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks while ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and industry standards
What the job involves
- We are seeking an experienced professional to step into a key additional role within our Outsourcing team
- This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where partnership and collaboration are central to success
- The Relationship Manager (RM) is a pivotal role, overseeing an established BPO & ITO outsourced contract providing a number of services across Aviva Wealth business
- You will act as a bridge between Aviva and our Partner, ensuring mutual success by:
- Building and nurturing a strong, collaborative partnership with our Partner to achieve shared goals and deliver exceptional outcomes for Aviva and its customers
- Driving operational excellence through the review and refinement of processes, forecasts, policies, and procedures
- Managing service levels and resolving challenges while maintaining a relationship-first approach to ensure alignment and performance improvement
- Acting as a trusted advisor to key areas within Aviva, ensuring their needs are met and supported by the Partner effectively

With 18 million international customers, Aviva is the largest provider of insurance and leading life and pension funds in the UK. With a history that dates back to the founding of Hand in Hand Fire & Life Insurance Society in 1696, Aviva’s current form is thanks to a merger between Norwich Union and CGU plc in the year 2000.
Over the noughties, Aviva grew its market out to Europe and established a high-profile foothold in America thanks to the most expensive advertising campaign of the time that included celebrities Alice Cooper and Bruce Willis. Into the 2010s, the insurance broker was forced to restructure and close a large number of its non-core businesses in a bid to increase its shareholder returns and streamline its focus. In 2012 it sold its US wing to Athene Holding to further this goal.
Now stripped back after sell-offs of subsidiaries in Indonesia, Italy, and many more countries, Aviva is refocusing on pensions. In the wake of a Pensions Dashboard Programme delay in the UK, Aviva is in the running to take over the programme thanks to its pre-existing private systems. This exemplifies Aviva’s renewed focus on the fintech sector, all whilst playing national analyst during the cost of living crisis thanks to its annual Age of Ambiguity study.
