Financial Director, Enthusiast Gaming

• Degree in Accounting or Finance
• ACCA designation
• Minimum 5-7 years experience in Accounting or Finance
• Proficient in Financial Reporting Standard 102 Section 1A – “The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland” and the Companies Act 2006
• IFRS knowledge
• Strong Excel skills and the ability to data extract, mine, and manipulate large volumes of data
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to provide written and verbal communications relevant to the user

Desirable

• Lead accounting and finance functions of UK and France entities within the Enthusiast Gaming consolidated group as assigned by UK management team and the corporate finance team in Toronto, Canada;
• Maintain accountability for process development and internal control adherence and financial management
• Analyze and present monthly, quarterly and annual operating results and annual consolidated financial statements;
• Lead the annual statutory audits and support Corporate group in the consolidated audit as required;
• Lead the period tax filings, including VAT and Corporate Taxes;
• Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll functions;
• Ensure all deliverables are met in a timely and efficient manner while monitoring annual performance and recommending action plans where necessary;
• Identify and resolve finance discrepancies, recommend solutions and communicate results
• Report on routine and complex transactions and review performance results;
• Communicate accounting principles to support finance procedures and explain financial results to management;
• Complete and resolve complex reconciliations with high transaction volume and foreign exchange;
• Identify and recommend resolutions for issues and process improvement opportunities following accounting standards;
• Provide input to process documentations and business cases, write variance explanations, summaries of findings and recommendations;
• Gain and apply proficiency in NetSuite Enterprise Resource Planning and oversee the accounting migration from Xero to NetSuite planned in the later half of 2023;
• Oversee bookkeeper(s) of UK and France entities and review various monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance;
• Work closely with the Finance Manager, Director Financial Reporting and VP Finance of Corporate Finance team to assist with monthly and quarterly packages under IFRS compliance standards
• Assist in identifying process gap and implementation of changes to improve use and efficiency of finance processes and procedures;
• Provide detailed analytics to management for decision making purposes;
• Manage corporate financial planning, budgeting, and cash management functions;
• Assist corporate finance team in ensuring publicly filed quarterly and annual statements are filed on time and in compliance with IFRS and other related securities laws;
• Duties typically associated with those of the role of Financial Director; and
