What the job involves
- As a Sales Manager for our B2B Go-to-Market team, you’ll combine your dedication to small businesses with your expertise in outbound sales to help us scale 10x over the next three years by building and leading your own outbound sales team
- Your team will engage and educate small business owners and their staff (‘Mom and Pop’ businesses, often fewer than 15 employees) on how Community Phone can transform their operations, save them money, and grow their business
- Your team will be responsible for prospecting, qualifying leads, driving conversion, and ensuring onboarding
- Build and Lead a High-Performance Team
- You will recruit, hire, and train an elite outbound B2B sales team, composed of motivated, high-energy individuals. You will set the standard—both in behavior and execution—by leading with intensity, clarity, and purpose, driving your team to perform at their absolute best
- Accelerate Performance
- Create a high-efficiency sales engine by developing streamlined workflows, scalable knowledge bases, and tailored messaging campaigns. Train your team to maximize daily prospect outreach with precision. Instill a culture of expectancy, where effort and execution directly correlate to results
- Generate and Convert Leads
- Your team will rapidly engage, qualify, and convert cold prospect lists into leads—and ultimately—loyal customers. Your relentless focus on speed, efficiency, and execution will ensure every opportunity is captured
- Execute with Precision Metrics
- Own and crush KPIs: speed to lead, connect rate, qualified rate, team variance, close rate, ARPU, and 90-day product activation rate. You will constantly push your team to exceed benchmarks and adapt their strategies to uncover better ways to hit goal
- Test, Adapt, Dominate
- Run bold experiments to refine outreach methods, messaging, and cadences. Analyze results with laser focus, pivot quickly, and embed winning tactics into your team’s DNA
- Close the Feedback Loop
- Gather insights from real conversations with prospects back to marketing, product, and leadership teams. Your team’s frontline learnings will shape strategy, refine offerings, and enhance execution across the company
Our take
Community Phone offers a simple landline phone service for families and business without requiring internet. Powered by the company’s landline base, connecting landline phones to cell towers in the area, customers access unlimited local and long distance calls in the U.S that work during power outages.
Revolutionising the traditional landline, Community Phone has built a cloud phone system that runs inside of landlines and therefore grants customers full control over how to use the phone, such as enabling them to transfer the landline number onto a mobile phone or have calls ring on multiple phones at the same time. Its services are trusted in over 5,000 homes and businesses, including Dunkin’ Donuts, Starbucks. Wells Fargo, KFC and 7-Eleven.
The company is gradually getting closer to its goal of giving customers the best telecommunications experience in the U.S. It has received investment from Thiel Fellowship, Canaan and Accel as well as landing a place on the Y Combinator. In 2023, Community Phone expanded into California at a time when traditional telephone network providers such as AT&T and Cox Optimum are switching from traditional copper wire to fiber optics, which risks leaving those without internet coverage in the dust.
