Who you are

Experience designing, developing and running large scale distributed systems with service-based architectures
Background in building microservices
Detailed understanding of service discovery and service communication systems
Intimate knowledge of RDBMs or NoSQL databases
Experience working with at least one programming language
Good interpersonal and communications skills
Bachelor’s Degree, or higher, in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent experience
3-12+ years of software development experience
Proficient in one of the following C, C++, Java, Go, Nodejs, php, Scala, Python or similar language
3-7+ years of experience with service discovery tools; Zookeeper, HashiCorp consul, Kubernetes or similar software
3-7+ years of experience with RPC technologies and messaging systems; Google protobuf, apache thrift, ZeroMQ, RabbitMQ, Kafka or similar
3-7+ years of experience with different SQL and No-SQL datastores; MySQL, MongoDB, ElasticSearch, InfluxDB, Redis, DynamoDB, Cassandra or similar
3-7+ years of experience with different deploying and running services in a public or private cloud; AWS, Azure, GCP, etc

What the job involves

Work closely with customer facing teams to understand customer needs and use cases
Turn new requirements into code, including unit testing, deployment, and ongoing monitoring
Work with team leaders through practices and tools enablement including a focus on automation and defining new ways of working, along with a modern development toolset
Be part of a global development team to build the necessary tools and systems
Help design globally distributed systems
Break down complex problems into smaller more manageable problems
Write code and develop software to solve problems
Scale software to deal with data generated by millions of network devices
Perform testing and provide support for software you develop
Reports To: VP of Graphiant Service Operations
