Who you are
- Marketing "generalist" with an affinity for growth and content marketing: you feel comfortable building a fulsome marketing foundation. You excel in growth and content marketing and know how to build a small team of contractors to complement your weaknesses
- Experience leading marketing at a Company with a comparable business to DubClub: you have worked through the marketing problem set of an online marketplace, vertical software, creator economy software, or SMB software company
- Extreme bias to execute and iterate: you are a “do-er” who relishes the opportunity to lead marketing content development and distribution strategy + execution
- Relentless problem solver: you are competitive and love to win alongside your teammates and partners. You take great pride in being creative to solve problems and make progress. You are highly data-driven and you bring that mentality to solving problems. You have an understanding of attribution modelling, comfortability with UTMs/campaigns. You have a strong ability to measure impact of different strategies
What the job involves
- You will lead marketing efforts as DubClub’s first full-time Marketing hire
- You will join a high-achieving and competitive “Go To Market” team with great momentum
- You will build and execute a strategy that will complement DubClub’s “outbound” capper acquisition strategy
- This is a high impact and high leverage role, reporting directly to DubClub’s COO and Co-Founder
- Generate a predictable funnel of new cappers that sign up and start selling with DubClub without sales team intervention: historically, the vast majority of DubClub’s new capper acquisition has come from an outbound sales motion. Under your leadership, we will improve the impact and predictability of “inbound” capper sign-ups and activations
- Arm our outbound capper acquisition team with fodder to attract interest from highest quality prospects: the work you do to attract inbound interest from prospective cappers should be highly “leverage-able” for DubClub’s small and mighty outbound sales team
- Drive buzz and strengthen DubClub’s positioning as the destination for premium sports content: “flash” carries a lot of currency in our market! You know how to create buzz around our product and service offering
- Build a complementary team to achieve business outcomes: we expect you “lead from the front” with an “individual contributor-first” mentality. To grow with DubClub, it is critical that you prove adept at making the most our existing team of marketing talent and bringing on fractional talent to fill expertise and bandwidth gaps
Our take
Sports content creators, known as Cappers, are valuable information sources for those placing bets on sports matches. However, the founders of DubClub discovered that collating all these creators' information was an unreliable process of scrolling through different sources. Its solution is a platform where sports content creators are paid to publish their videos and blogs on one platform, creating a centralized source of information for bettors and sports content subscribers.
The concept behind DubClub is multifaceted in that it works both as a betting source for odds and strategies, but also as a social media and publishing marketplace for the casual sports fan. The paid subscriptions to specific content creators mean that income for creators isn’t diluted through aggregated monthly earnings, meaning that in theory, content creators would make more direct income than on other platforms reliant on advertising.
Though a small company, more informed betting and higher earnings for content creators are an attractive prospect for consumers and creators alike. DubClub is only set to grow off the back of 2024’s round of $7.5 million in Series A funding. It’ll be interesting to see how the company develops its platform and market share.
