Senior Data Scientist, Parkopedia

• Minimum of 4 years professional experience, including building statistical or machine learning products in a commercial setting (preferably being involved in their deployment)
• Excellent mathematical and theoretical skills, especially probability theory. Likely from an MSc or PhD in a highly mathematical field
• An ability to understand complex problems and find creative solutions
• Highly proficient in Python with thorough knowledge of the Python data science ecosystem (e.g. Pandas, Numpy, Scikit-Learn)
• Strong knowledge of statistical and machine learning techniques, and experience using relevant tools
• Good software engineering practices

Desirable

• In the Data Science team, we ingest large amounts of complex sensor data, combine with manually and automatically annotated data from other teams in Parkopedia, and produce advanced modelling products that help people park their car or charge their electric vehicle (EV)
• Our machine learning models are productionised and updated regularly using fresh data. While all our data scientists need to have skills across the Data Science Product Development Lifecycle, we also welcome depth in specific areas to help us excel as a team
• We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Senior Data Scientist who will enjoy developing high quality data products and the improvement of existing models, all with the aim of delivering the best value to our customers
• They will be an important member of our team, and will work with smart colleagues in a supportive environment where learning and development is a priority
• Developing new products that solve business challenges relevant to parking, EV charging, and journey routing. You will take ownership of projects that involve conducting in-depth analysis of new data sources, and researching, implementing and testing potential modelling approaches
• Building on existing products in production to enhance their performance through iterative development
• Writing high quality code and contributing to the pipelines in our production codebase. This will involve deploying highly scalable products with the help of our engineers
• Mastering new skills and enhancing our services and ways of working by implementing relevant approaches or technologies
• Being a great member of the team - while the work is quite autonomous, we like to collaborate and support each other in any way we can
