Who you are
- Have a deep need to get to the bottom of problems and cannot rest until you know the answer
- Have some experience setting up end to end testing frameworks and writing automation tests for native devices using Appium
- Like to get into the nitty-gritty details and fully understand how something works
- Want a mix of exploratory testing and automation testing and can recognise when we should take risks and when we shouldn’t
What the job involves
- This is not a typical test engineer role. As our first test engineer hire, you'll be responsible for building a culture of testing at Yonder. You'll be given the autonomy to figure out the best way to do this. This means:
- Working closely with our product, design and engineering teams to ensure testing and quality is part of our decision making process
- Setting up approaches for a wide variety of testing, from performance through to security
- Defining our strategy for shipping at speed and putting in place CI/CD tools and technologies
- You'll also support our weekly app releases on iOS and Android, and ensure our cards have 100% reliability, by:
- Running exploratory testing sessions with the entire team for new feature launches and supporting the team in regression testing the apps before release to our members
- Deep diving into edge cases with other banks and merchants to understand any time a card doesn't work
- Building and developing strategies to ensure changes we make do not impact card reliability
