Who you are
- 7 years of experience in program management, managing projects with cross-functional teams
- 5 years of experience in cloud computing emerging technologies or related technical fields
Desirable
- Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Risk Management, Auditing, a related field, or equivalent work experience
- CISSP, CCSP, PMP, Google Cloud ACE, CRISC, CISA, or other certifications
- 8 years of experience in Cybersecurity, Engineering Program Management, Cybersecurity Risk Management, Compliance, or a related role
- 5 years of experience in customer-facing roles in the Public Sector
- Knowledge of product and solution market trends in cybersecurity and cloud
What the job involves
- In this role, you will enable the wide-scale adoption of Google Cloud by enterprises in any industry and in any market
- You'll establish Google Cloud as a trusted and effective partner for security transformation by positioning and delivering security and compliance capabilities as key differentiators, and by demonstrating the opportunity for operational risk reduction in key industries and geographies
- Engage with customer security, risk, and compliance functions to help them navigate the journey to cloud usage
- Influence the direction of Google Cloud security and compliance, and help support the wider community of Google Cloud security and compliance professionals
- Manage, coordinate, and facilitate security and compliance programs to ensure that Google Cloud meets regulatory and contractual requirements and compliance risks are managed
- Draft and promote cloud solutions specific to the public sector and/or local market
- Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events as needed, with potential for international travel

Despite 80% of revenue coming from advertising services, it's known for continually investing in 'moonshot' projects (like self-driving cars) in an effort to find the next big pillar of the business.
Google recently announced an investment of $9.5bn to expand its offices and data centres in the US. This investment is connected to the company’s ambitious green goal of operating on carbon-free energy full-time by 2030, and will partly focus on setting new standards for green building design.
Following years of rapid hiring, and faced with a broader slowdown of ad spending, the company is being faced by weaker-than-expected revenue. CEO Sundar Pichai has recently announced that Google is reducing its head count by about 12,000 to adapt to global economic conditions. It will move to refocus its talent and capital to the company's highest priorities.
