Who you are

Proven experience as a Staff or Principal Engineer, with a track record of designing and implementing data intensive solutions
Experience in a backend software engineering role
Strong experience working with event based architecture with strong proficiency with Kafka
Proficiency in programming languages such as Java or Kotlin
Strong experience with data warehousing technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift) and proficiency in SQL and JOOQ Query Generation
Experience of working in an event-driven architecture environment and cloud platforms (e.g, AWS, Azure, GCP)
Familiarity with data governance and security best practices

What the job involves

This role sits in our reporting and analytics function
You will take a lead role in building the latest version of a product that allows our customers to report and visualize their key employee/HR data
Analytical Product Development: Design, develop and maintain a robust scalable analytical product to deliver a best in class experience for our customers
Data Modeling: Experience of building data models (logical domain models) observing data integrity and ensuring consistency. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and design appropriate data representations
Performance Optimization: Identify and implement performance improvements in backend services to ensure a responsive experience is provided to the customers.
Data Security and Governance: Implement and enforce data security measures and governance policies to protect sensitive information. Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, data engineers and software engineers, to understand their functional needs and provide timely and accurate support
Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for engineering processes and system architecture
Continuous Learning: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in engineering. Apply this knowledge to enhance and evolve our product offering and infrastructure
