Role
Who you are
- 8+ years of experience in FP&A, GTM Finance, Strategic Finance, or related fields, preferably in a high-growth environment
- Proven experience supporting Sales or Marketing leadership, with strong understanding of revenue models and GTM unit economics
- Experience in healthcare or health tech is preferred
- Capable of managing executive relationships, high-stakes deliverables, and complex expectations with your business partners
- Expert in financial modeling and quantitative analysis who thrives on solving unstructured problems and influencing senior business partners
- Strong communication skills and executive presence, with the judgment to challenge assumptions while maintaining strong relationships
- High level of ownership, curiosity, and urgency, with the ability to operate independently and navigate ambiguity
- Bachelor’s degree required
What the job involves
- We are seeking a strategic and hands-on GTM Finance Sr. Manager / Director to serve as our first GTM finance business partner at SmithRx
- Partnering closely with Sales and Marketing (S&M) leadership, this builder will shape the financial foundation of our go-to-market engine
- We are looking for an individual who can scale a business-oriented finance function from the ground up
- Reporting to the Senior Director, Strategic Finance, this role will own financial planning, forecasting, and performance analysis across the GTM organization
- You will play a critical role in driving GTM strategy, delivering actionable insights, and ensuring alignment between growth investments and financial outcomes
- Build deep partnerships with Sales and Marketing (S&M) leadership by providing strategic decision support across all areas of investment, delivering high-level financial results, and identifying emerging market trends
- Own and continuously improve forecasting models for members and revenue, ensuring alignment with pipeline, targets and long-range planning
- Own and evolve GTM KPIs and ROI frameworks (CAC, LTV, Payback) to guide decision making that aligns with the Company’s long-term objectives
- Partner with GTM teams on pricing strategy and proposals, developing robust P&L models for new customers and contracts
- Own the monthly forecasts, executive-level variance analysis, annual planning, and spend management for the S&M organization
- Partner with Sales, Rev Ops and HR to align headcount planning, capacity models, and incentive structures including commission modeling and quota development
- Stand up the systems, tooling, and frameworks needed to influence the business, including automation, reporting, and operational rhythms
Our take
PBMs (Pharmacy Benefit Managers) save payers and patients 40% to 50% on prescription drug and related medical costs in the US, compared to what they would spend without them. It’s generally accepted, though, that PBMs are working for profit and not solely on the customers benefit.
SmithRx is a company looking to reduce complications in the current system with its innovative PBM structure. It uses its cloud-based technology to present the most cost effective options transparently to self-insured businesses, supporting them in getting the lowest cost drugs they can, as well as making the transition to these alternatives seamless.
It does this by partnering with innovative drug companies, as well as applying coupons and making use of available savings and assistance programs. As the company does not take economics from the supply chain, it is able to work for its customers with no hidden agendas. And with significant growth, cost savings, customer satisfaction, and market traction in 2024, the company is very much on track for continued success.
