Role
Who you are
- Have a degree in Marketing / Business Administration / Management or other relevant fields
- Have a minimum of 1 year of proven experience in Affiliate marketing or a relevant role
- Are based in Berlin
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English language (German is a plus, but not a must)
- Have excellent sales, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
What the job involves
- Marketing at Motatos is a curious & high-performing team across all our countries & hubs
- Our knowledge ranges from corporate communication to impact, social media, SEM, customer insight, CRM, graphic design, customer service, brand building and more; all powered by data, while optimizing for KPIs such as brand awareness, consideration, customer acquisition and retention
- Acquire new partnerships through negotiations and deal optimization
- Identify new channels of acquisition, build business cases, and execute campaigns
- Generate weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly business reporting for the market
- Implement promotional campaigns and Growth Strategies
- Perform in-depth performance monitoring and reporting, including presenting key business KPIs
- Provide proactive account management by providing solutions to affiliate partners as well as offering ideas/methods to increase revenue through copywriting techniques, promotional channels and unique marketing tactics
- Monetize partnerships with major affiliates, publishers and more
- Stay updated on competition and issues within the affiliate marketing industry
- Identify opportunities for ad-hoc activations and growth tactics
Our take
About one third of food produced in the world ends up in landfills. Much of this is due to marketing - seasonal packaging and short best before dates mean that the food is still completely edible, but wholesalers are unable to sell it in stores which means it will go unused. Enter Motatos, a Swedish startup which swoops in, buys up the produce, and retails it online at a discount to environmentally conscious (and thrifty) customers.
Motatos positions itself as a rival to high street chains such as Aldi and Lidl, and claims to offer up to a 60% discount over its brick-and-mortar competitors. While customers may be reluctant to purchase discarded food even at a discount, Motatos banks on the brand recognition of its household name products to ensure trust with its users, and its careful price tracking and daily offerings serve to make its prices irresistible.
Since its founding in 2014, the company has recirculated almost 80,000 tonnes of food and consumer products and raised over $142.2M in funding. And as consumers become increasingly conscious of the environmental impact of their daily lives, Motatos is only going to see more growth.
